The Old Wabasso Bridge: A Legacy Lives On!
|
The old Wabasso Bridge was built in 1927 and crossed the Indian River Lagoon between the small town of Wabasso on the mainland and Orchid Island north of Vero Beach. in 1960, the FDOT decided to replace the original structure with what is known as the 'A. B. Michael' bridge, named after one of our citrus pioneers. Disney's engineers decided to check it out before it was sent to be scrapped and ended up purchasing it. It was then restored to its original condition and is now a part of the Main Street Railroad at Magic Kingdom.

30th Annual Garden Club Ornament
|
In the fall of 1992, The Garden Club of Indian River County introduced the first in a series of custom-designed
dated, collectible Christmas ornaments. The series features buildings that typify the historical and cultural diversity that makes Vero Beach such a unique community. The design and manufacture of these collectibles combine original artwork and chemical etching on brass with a 24kt gold finish and silkscreen color. Each ornament is attractively boxed and includes a brochure containing historical information about the subject. This year, the 30th anniversary highlights the Garden Club of Vero Beach.
