Other important news about our programs
Junior Counselor Male:
There is no Junior Counselor Male position at this time. However, there is a possibility of acquiring one in mid-February. We are asking boys to apply if they are interested in being considered for a JC male position should one become available. No application fee will be charged at this time. In addition, boys may apply to other programs for which they qualify. Apply today.

Interchange 12-13 Sweden Date Change: June 15 - July 16, 2020
The Pittsburgh delegation will travel to Sweden, June 15 – 29, staying with Swedish participants’ families. Then, the program continues in Pittsburgh, July 2 – July 16, with Swedish participants staying with Pittsburgh participants’ families. Apply today.

Interchange leaders are needed for Sweden and Lithuania - ages 21 and up. Spend 2 weeks in the partner city and 2 weeks in Pittsburgh. Apply today.

Junior Leader for Interchange:
An additional leader age 18 or older is needed for Interchange 12-13 to Sweden.  

JB Member Honored as a Young Entrepreneur
Congratulations to Sydney Birchard, CISV Pittsburgh Junior Branch Member, who recently received a Junior Women of Achievement Award from Pittsburgh nonprofit  Cribs for Kids .

The award honors individuals, ages 8 to 21, for their achievements in academics, service, and leadership. Sydney, age 13, was recognized for her ambition as a young entrepreneur.

She and co-founder Maeve Shaughnessy formed  ALS Kids  in 2015, a nonprofit that raises money for research and support of ALS patients in western Pennsylvania, when they both lost grandparents to the disease.

Our Winter Overnight isn't just for applicants to our international programs. Anyone can attend - youth ages 11-18 and adults as chaperones.

Sign up for a fun overnight on Saturday to Sunday, January 4 - 5. Bring a snack and a sleeping bag.

Save the Date for a Fun Evening to Benefit the Scholarship Fund
January 15 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for an adults-only evening at the Independent Brewing Company , 1740 Shady Avenue in Squirrel Hill. Help us build our scholarship fund!

IBC will donate $1 for every beer sold that evening. We will also have a 50/50 raffle. The event is free and open to the public.
