As we move toward the end of the year, we’re grateful for the many ways our Network continues to grow, adapt, and deepen its shared ministry of storytelling. This month’s newsletter highlights the strength of our community—your commitment to renewing membership, your feedback as we look toward future conferences, and your generosity that sustains our mission.

Thank you for walking with NBSI in this season of reflection and renewal. Your participation, your voice, and your support make this work possible. Together, we continue to learn, tell, and live the stories that shape us.

Great News for NBSI membership dues in 2026

With NBSI’s updated ordering system, most current members have chosen to have their membership automatically renew on the anniversary of the date they joined the Network. This is great news for you and for NBSI — auto-renewals make for smoother transitions from year to year and help us focus on the work that matters.

You will receive an email 15 days before your renewal date. This notification will allow you to review or update your payment method, or cancel your renewal if you choose to do so.

Your membership in 2025 helped NBSI advance our mission to encourage everyone to learn and tell biblical stories by:

• Expanding our international outreach

• Offering meaningful and encouraging online workshops throughout the year

and at Annual Conference

• Refashioning the website to include Members-Only resources

• Expanding the online Biblical Storytelling Library

• …and much more!

If you haven’t joined yet, now is a great time. An annual NBSI membership connects you with a Network devoted to proclaiming the word of the Lord to a world hungry for good news.

You are never too young or too old to submit a video to our NBSI Library. Here is a video that was submitted by our youngest teller, (Sandhya's daughter) Ziona Hobday. She told 2 Kings 2:8-10 at our workshop at the conference this Summer.

Also, if you didn't see the email, our own Tracy Radosevic is challenging us to submit videos. Whoever submits the most videos between November and the 2026 Summer Conference (must be at least 10), will win a Biblical Storytelling workshop given by Tracy to the group of your choice. This will be in person if it's near her home of Baltimore or by Zoom if it is far away. So get those Advent/Christmas stories recorded and submit them!

All videos are assessed for quality before they are uploaded to the Lectionary Library. Here are some helpful tipson NBSI expectations for telling and somehandy tips when recording your story.

We want your voice to help shape the future of our Annual Conference. To guide our planning, we’ve put together a brief 10-question survey—just 2–3 minutes—to better understand the needs and hopes of our members as we consider potential conference locations.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. Thank you for taking a moment to share your insight and for helping us continue to build a conference experience that serves, supports, and inspires our whole Network.

Hi! I’m Lori Ruge-Jones (she/her), a longtime member of NBSI. I’m a

campus pastor in Eau Claire, WI, working with students from a variety of

faith backgrounds and home contexts– I love it! As a storyteller I

particularly enjoy telling stories from the Hebrew Bible and incorporating

music with storytelling when I can.

Starting this January, I’ll be the coordinator for the monthly virtual

events, one of the benefits provided by the Network for members. I look

forward to working and learning with you online throughout the year as

we continue to encourage everyone (including ourselves) to learn and

tell Biblical stories!

As the year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the many blessings and opportunities the Network of Biblical Storytellers International (NBSI) has experienced. For over 40 years, we’ve been dedicated to equipping storytellers, nurturing community, and rediscovering the timeless stories of Scripture. None of this would be possible without the generous support of our members and friends like you.

This season, we invite you to make an end-of-year gift to NBSI. Your contribution sustains the vital work of biblical storytelling, expands our reach to new audiences, and supports events like our Annual Conference. With your help, we can continue to share the transformative power of these stories for generations to come.

Every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact. As you consider your giving, know that you are an integral part of this ministry and its mission to proclaim the Word.

Thank you for your faithfulness, generosity, and commitment to the work of storytelling. Together, we are sharing stories that transform lives.
