Employee Favorites
Since Christmas is right around the corner and everyone is looking for the perfect gift, I asked NAO employees to choose one favorite item from the store and tell me why it is their favorite. The results make for a pretty good list of ideas for Christmas.

1. Ron   T ough picking just one thing, but guess I'll have to go with the Sporthill 3SP fabric pants. I use these as running pants when it is cool enough, under my shell ski pants at Eaglecrest and while transiting to and from the area. They're my "go to" hiking pants as well. Being a fleeced polypropylene fabric with a knitted face they stop the wind, do an amazing job repelling light rain and of course dry quickly.

2. Erik Wigwam's Merino Comfort Hiker sock. The loop fibers on the inside are long and plush, which makes for a very comfortable, non-itchy sock. The loop
fibers also do a great job of wicking moisture away, while keeping your feet warm. They are fully cushioned from the tip of the toe to the top of the calf, making them an excellent boot sock for your Xtratufs or hiking boots. Make sure to wash them inside out, to keep them feeling brand new.

3. Kandi My favorite NAO item is Life is Good T-Shirts and Sweatshirts. They are close fitting and prewashed for added softness. Plus they are made out of 100% USA grown cotton. I love them because they are super soft and cute.

4
. Vicky  The Grid 1.0 foam roller by Trigger Point, had me at "Hello!" I love this product! Designed to
withstand constant, heavy, and repeated use without breaking down. It comes in a variety of widths including a travel friendly version. Built with EVA foam with Distrodensity Zones that replicate the feeling of a massage therapist's hand. It allows tissue to relax as you roll. The Grid is an awesome way to self-massage and roll through the tight muscles, knots and kinks that prevent feeling good and moving well.

5. Liam   My first purchase at NAO was an Icebreaker Merino wool T-shirt which I wore once a week for three years in a row. Even with the constant wear and many outdoor adventures, it still looks great. They are softer than cotton and easy to care for. They have many great colors and designs to choose from, so each year I buy one more to add to the laundry rotation.

6 . Stephanie
The Outdoor Research Aria vest. Comes with 650-fill down insulation which provides perfect lightweight, compressible warmth for setting up high camp or when conditions turn cold and nasty in the backcountry. It also has a hood and hand warmer pockets. Looks cute with any outfit!

7. Adam
My favorite item is the Stormr Jackets. Mine keeps me warm while I laugh at the weather. As the other guys struggle to fish in harsh winds and rain, I stay dry
and protected. It's by far the best, customizable jacket I have ever had in my life.

8. Haley
I love Keen's Elsa boot.
A durable boot that's seriously cute-and seriously warm. The seam-sealed, waterproof construction keeps feet dry and the warm furry collar keeps snow out. They are light weight, have traction for slick sidewalks, and are not super chunky like most snow boots. Stylish!

9. Kelsey One of my favorite products we have at NAO is the Peapack Mitten. Moving here from Michigan recently, I was familiar with this mitten which is created in Grand Rapids, MI. All are handcrafted and no two are alike. We have a great supply of various colors and styles, each with a classy button for appeal. They are extremely warm and earth friendly, made from recycled wool exteriors, with a polar fleece interior lining. A high quality product with a lot of personal character to add to any winter attire. The best part is they are machine wash and dry.

10. Stacey I have tried many coffee thermos cups, but they don't hold the heat like my Hydro Flask Bottle. I can bring a hot drink into work in the morning and it will stay hot until lunch - unless I drink it all. Sometimes I don't get around to drinking it until after closing, but it is still hot. They are great at keeping liquids cold too. Thankfully NAO carries extra tops, because I dropped my flask and broke a piece of the plastic top off. The bottle still kept things warm, but the top wouldn't seal, so it leaked. The bottle has a big dent in the side but with the new top it works like new. It is well loved!

11. Val  Love the Filson Double Mackinaw Cruiser! Patented in 1914 and still in high demand today. It is made of 100% virgin wool for comfort, natural rain repellency and insulating warmth in any weather conditions. The Double Mackinaw Cruiser features two layers of wool over the arms and yoke, for maximum protection against snow, rain and cold. It has adjustable cuffs to keep body warmth in and military-grade melamine buttons for added durability. Best of all, it has nine pockets for storing tools, accessories and gear of all sorts. By par one of the best deals!

12. Jim The Xtratuf coozie! Because it keeps my beer cold.
