SHISPA has been an active member of the GHCA since September 2018, and we would like to congratulate this awesome non profit organization for helping and building the Hispanic Community.
The Southern Hispanic Insurance Society of Professional Agents, SHISPA, is a nonprofit association that
provides education, training, networking, and expansion opportunities for Hispanic insurance
professionals in the state of Georgia and across the Southeast.
The overall mission of SHISPA is to promote Hispanic Insurance agents' economic advancement through
risk management and insurance education, networking, and access to strong and stable markets in order
to provide knowledgeable advice and consultation to their respective clientele and qualified profitable
risks to insurance carriers.
The organization was founded in 2013 through a mutual collaboration between Wes Duesenberg
Jr., CEO of Southern Insurance Underwriters, Inc. (SIU) and Rodolfo Vaupel with the intention of
expanding educational and marketing opportunities to this fast growing segment of the insurance market.
The educational programs are conducted in
Spanish in a series of six (6), three hour classes over three
months. Each class is open to approximately 24 students. The program provides each Agency Principal
and their associates with the knowledge they need to serve their customers in the best possible way to
give them appropriate advice on risk management, loss control and the best insurance coverages at a
A vast majority of customers for these agents work in and around the construction industry. During these
classes, a major emphasis is placed on customers in the construction industry and catering to their
specific insurance needs.
SHISPA is committed to supporting Hispanic agents in Georgia and the
Southeast in these areas.
