Global Corner:
Christmas Lights in Singapore
Singapore's Orchard Road boasts some of the best Christmas light displays in the world. A city-state made up of at least 64 islands, Singapore is also Southeast Asia's richest country and holds the title of one of the world's greenest cities. It has incredible shopping, food, and culture.

As far as real estate is concerned, investasian.com recommends investing in Singapore if you are looking for an incredibly stable investment. The rental yields are not excessive, but the stability of the market makes it perfect for preserving wealth.

If you are interested in investing in Singapore, or elsewhere, I can help you find a real estate agent who is the expert in that area!
THIS MONTH'S RECIPE
Bethany's Christmas Morning Sausage Balls
One of our family's favorite Christmas traditions is having sausage balls on Christmas morning. The ones we make aren't quite like any others I've had, but they are so easy and delicious!

The week before Christmas, my husband, two children, and I sit down at the kitchen table and make up as many sausage balls as we can together. They aren't pretty, and it usually results in a decent sized mess (as you can imagine when a 9 & 6 year-old are involved), but it's one of the things I look forward to the most each year.

The best part is that they can be made ahead so it doesn't add to your Christmas day baking! After making, we put them on a parchment-lined baking sheet in the freezer. Once they freeze, we transfer them to a ziploc bag until we are ready to eat them. Then on Christmas morning, we pull out exactly how many we need and bake them fresh!

-Bethany
Ingredients:
  • Bisquick pancake mix
  • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 lbs sausage (we prefer 1 lb hot and 1 lb sage)

Directions:
  1. Mix sausage in a large mixing bowl. We add the Bisquick and cheese to the sides of the same bowl to save on mess.
  2. Make a golf-ball sized ball of sausage. Flatten the center so it looks like a bowl. Add a pinch of Bisquick and cheese to the center and close the ball around it so they are trapped in the middle.
  3. Roll the sausage ball in additional Bisquick and cheese.
  4. When you are ready to eat, bake on 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes (or a bit longer if from frozen).
