Holiday Closure Notice


The First Nations University of Canada campuses will be closed for the holidays starting at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024.


We will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 8:30 AM.


Please note that during this period, all university offices, services, and campuses will be unavailable. Regular operations will resume on January 2.


We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and joyful holiday season. Thank you for being part of our community, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year!

Annual Elders Christmas Dinner brings the Holiday Spirit to the Regina Campus


What started as a small Christmas dinner in honour of the Regina Campus Elders many years ago has now flourished into the annual Elders Christmas Dinner, welcoming everyone from the community to come and enjoy a Christmas meal with the FNUniv Elders office, senior management, faculty, staff, and children of the pamināwasowin Child Care Centre.

"Fill the Tipi" Campaign Brings Holiday Joy to FNUniv


The FNUniv Elders Office at the Regina Campus hosted the "Fill the Tipi" campaign, inviting staff, faculty, and Senior Management to donate gifts for the Annual Elders Christmas Dinner on December 18, 2024.


A campus tipi symbolized the generosity, and Santa Claus distributed the gifts during the festive event. This initiative highlighted FNUniv’s commitment to community, kindness, and holiday traditions.

FNUniv's Regina Campus Social Committee Hosts Annual Christmas Craft Sale


On December 2nd and 3rd, FNUniv’s Regina Campus Social Commitee nhosted its Annual Christmas Craft Sale, featuring 25 talented Indigenous crafters and artisans. The event highlighted unique handmade creations, including jewelry, beadwork, apparel, and holiday décor. Attendees enjoyed the festive atmosphere while supporting local artists and celebrating Indigenous creativity and craftsmanship.

Children of the pamināwasowin Child Care Centre Celebrate the Holidays with Annual Christmas Party


The children of the pamināwasowin Child Care Centre delighted parents and families with a heartwarming concert of Christmas songs during the Elders Christmas Dinner.


After their performance, the festive celebrations continued with a joyful Christmas party featuring cookie and ornament decorating, crafts, hot chocolate, a special visit from Santa, and a delicious luncheon.

The October Parent Meet & Greet at the pamināwasowin Child Care Centre was a heartwarming evening of community building. Families and staff connected through shared experiences, engaging activities, and lively conversations, fostering stronger relationships and celebrating a shared commitment to the children’s well-being.

Northern Campus Gears Up for the Holidays


The Northern Campus is filled with holiday cheer, featuring festive display cases and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Student Ambassador Miranda Parenteau (pictured) created this year’s displays, spreading joy and warmth across the campus.

INSW Regina Campus Students Held a Coat & Blanket Drive


Students from the Indigenous Social Work program at the Regina Campus ventured out with all the donations received for the INSW students. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed! They distributed tents, ski pants, blankets, toques, mittens, pants, winter jackets, sweaters, and coats. Additionally, they shared soup, bannock, homemade cookies, Christmas oranges, and a large jug of hot chocolate.

Adam Martin’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Final Exhibition, TASATÁWEYAT: Explorations of Indigeneity Through Relationships With Family, Place, and Community, is now on display in the east wing of the FNUniv Regina Campus main floor. Visit before the end of Fall 2024 to experience this compelling exploration of identity and cultural perspective.

Saskatoon Campus Celebrates the Holiday Season with their Handmade Holiday Event!

On December 3rd, the Saskatoon Campus Student Association held a Handmade Holiday event, welcoming students, their families, and the FNUniv community. Attendees enjoyed a festive meal, crafted holiday decorations, and had the chance to meet a special guest who stopped by for photos!

Meet FNUniv Research Assistants of the Indigenous Knowledge & Science Program

Two former students, Nathaniel Cook and Vanshita Agarwalof, of Dr. Sardarli, worked as Research Assistants for a recent project entitled “Numerical Systems Used by Indigenous People in Various Countries”, completed by Dr. Arzu Sardarli. Dr. Sardarli's project was supported by the UR2 Fellows Program of the University of Regina and conducted in 2023-2024. Within the program, he developed supplementary materials for his introductory mathematics courses.
