Jingle Books Update

We've raised $7,300 as of December 9th, which means we still have a bit to go to meet our goal of $12,500.

There are 22 days left in 2022, which means there are 22 days left of Jingle Books! Let's get to $12,500 to make the most of the matching grant and provide great books and programs in 2023!

What is Jingle Books?

Jingle Books is the JFHML Friends annual fundraiser to raise money for books, eBooks, newspapers, programming, and more!

A Final Note...

So much of what the library offers is made possible by the generosity of our patrons and community. We truly love everyone who comes into the library. We appreciate every dollar, but we never expect you to give.

Author Talk: Briana Smith

Tuesday, December 27th @ 2:00

Briana Smith will present an overview of her new book, Free Berlin: Art, Urban Politics, and Everyday Life. The book tells the unlikely story of how experimental artists flourished behind the Iron Curtain and beyond the art market in the everyday spaces of late Cold War Berlin. Smith will highlight a series of artists and art collectives active in the walled city of West Berlin and socialist East Berlin, and highlight some of their memorable, and often humorous, art projects. She will also discuss the long-term impact of these artists on grassroots urban activism in the contemporary city, including ongoing efforts to make the city affordable and accessible to all. Smith is a Lecturer and Assistant Director of Studies in History & Literature at Harvard University. She is originally from Crosby and attended CIHS with the class of 2001.
