2025 Year in Review and an Exciting 2026 Ahead | |
| | | 2025 was another successful year for VegMichigan, and we have even bigger plans for 2026. This year, we hosted nearly 100 events, and our surveys continue to show that our programs are helping people move toward—and adopt—a plant-based diet. Please take a moment to watch our two-minute video below, highlighting the impact we made together in 2025. We also spent the past eight months taking an in-depth strategic planning course that will guide our work in the years ahead. While challenging, it has been incredibly valuable, and we look forward to sharing the entire plan in January. As part of the plan, we will strengthen and expand our festivals into new regions of Michigan and launch new efforts to help schools add more plant-based options to their lunch menus. VegMichigan has a proven track record of success, and with your support, we can continue building a Michigan where plant-based eating is understood, accepted, and enjoyed by all. Please consider becoming a member or making a Giving Tuesday donation to help fuel our work.
| | The VegMichigan team would like to thank Jeri Schneider for her six years of service on the board. During this time, Jeri helped grow the organization and guide it in a more equitable direction. She led cooking demos, co-led a book club, supported events, co-founded and was an active member of the Anti-Racist Committee, and volunteered as a VegFest coordinator. We are grateful for her leadership and the fresh ideas and perspectives she brought to VegMichigan. Jeri is dedicated to creating a more just world for people, animals, and the environment, and she will continue to support our work as a volunteer, which we greatly appreciate! | | |

Michigan Competitive Fuels Act:
Enriching Utilities and Greenwashing Data Centers
| | | | This legislative session, the Michigan Senate will likely propose a Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) for our state. An LCFS will incentivize the production and growth of mega dairies and the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) that some of them produce, by assigning dairy manure biogas lucrative carbon credits. Corporations such as DTE and Consumers Energy stand to substantially profit from these carbon credits. Please take a few moments to fill it out. Thank You. | Plant-Based News Headlines | | | | |
