Tukwila Parks and Recreation has joined forces with the Tukwila Children's Foundation for the 2019 Spirit of Giving Campaign. Together, with your help, we will reduce financial stress and help create a time of ease and joy for Tukwila children. Three out of every four elementary-aged students in Tukwila qualify for free or reduced lunch and about 76% of Tukwila families are living below the poverty line. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to help 175 families in Tukwila this December. With your help, we will provide toys and other important items of need this holiday season.

Drop-off sites include the Tukwila Community Center, Tukwila City Hall, Tukwila Fire Department Station 51, and the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce. Monetary contributions can also be made at the link below. The deadline for donations is Wednesday, December 11th.

For every $50 donated during the month of December, the Highline Medical Center Foundation is gifting a clay hand and footprint keepsake ornament to families with a baby born in our Childbirth Center. The Foundation supports the Childbirth Center families in many ways including providing diapers, car seats, pack n plays, and supplies to new mothers and babies in need.

We at Still Waters: Services for Families in Transition have had a great time sharing the vision of Tukwila Weekend SnackPack during Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Month in Tukwila. Since the inception of our program, we have served over 150,000 weekend meals to an average of 150 Tukwila students each week. Our kids struggle with food and housing insecurity, and the meals we provide help them return to school after the weekend ready to engage in learning.
