They will be displayed in the sanctuary for our December 21st worship service, December 24th Christmas Eve Service, as well as during the Children’s Christmas Program on December 14th. The poinsettias in the Fellowship Hall for the Children’s Program will be delivered to our Shut-ins prior to Christmas.

The cost this year is $15.00 for each poinsettia. We will only be purchasing red poinsettias. The deadline to place your order will be Sunday, December 14th for both online and in-person ordering. The plants that you’ve ordered will be available to be taken home following the Christmas Eve Service.

You may use the envelopes found in the narthex to place your orders, pay online via Subsplash

When you submit your order, please:

1) Ensure we have your name (automatic in Subsplash),

and/or you can send a note to the church with your check.

3) Tell us if they are being honored or remembered. If giving online,

please use the memo field for steps 2 and 3.

Our Children Present: "The Advent Tree"

The children and youth will present their Christmas program on Sunday, December 14th, during traditional service time. The program will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m. that morning.

There will be a Fellowship Tea following the service. We ask that you bring a couple dozen cookies or bars to share with the congregation for the Tea. There will also be cards that our children have made to sign for our shut-ins. They will appreciate receiving your messages to them during the holidays.

Hope to see everyone there as the children and youth present!

Join Book Group Readers - December 18th

Make plans to attend on Thursday, December 18th at 1:00 p.m. in the Church Parlor to discuss "Small Things Like These" by Claire Keegan.

"Small Things Like These" is award-winning author Claire Keegan's landmark new novel, a tale of one man's courage and a remarkable portrait of love and family It is 1985 in a small Irish town.

During the weeks leading up to Christmas, Bill Furlong, a coal merchant and family man faces into his busiest season. Early one morning, while delivering an order to the local convent, Bill makes a discovery which forces him to confront both his past and the complicit silences of a town controlled by the church. Already an international bestseller, Small Things Like These is a deeply affecting story of hope, quiet heroism, and empathy from one of our most critically lauded and iconic writers."

For our December treats, we are asking everyone to bring a dozen of your favorite Christmas treats (cookies, bars, etc) to share.

We do not have a book club bag for this book. Contact Jennie Mittan if you have any questions or want to be added to our email list.

New At-Home Sunday School Curriculum!

Hi Everyone! It is good to be back in the At Home Sunday School rhythm again. The book I will be taking inspiration from is called We Call Ourselves Disciples from the Chalice Press and can be ordered online through them. It was edited by Kamilah Hall Sharp and Joel Brown. I hope that you will consider journaling or discussing the lessons each week to help you reflect on, explore, and grow your own faith. I will introduce you to the book by sharing the paragraph on the back of the book.

“Feeling called to follow Christ in a complex, fragmented world? We Call Ourselves Disciples is your guide to living your faith within our tradition. Written by Disciples pastors and scholars, this book explores our diverse history, theology, worship, social justice, mission, unity, polity, and more. Understand our diverse views and pursuit of unity and wholeness. Find your place in our shared journey and embrace your calling.”

I hope that a deeper look at our denomination and its unique diversity will inspire you to participate more fully in the church and its ongoing mission in the world. See you online each week as we delve into this book for the next few months. Amy
