Delivering a World of Health and Hope .
13 Tons of Supplies to Two Continents
We sent out two containers in just the past two weeks! Multiple organizations from North America, Europe and Africa were involved in making both of these containers a reality. With over 30,000 lbs of supplies sent in 10 days, we are sending Health and Hope at a record pace.

Last week, we packed a container headed for Niš, Serbia. This is the first time we have sent medical supplies to a European country in over 2 years. This is a great reminder that medically under served communities exist everywhere. The Canadian nonprofit 28.Jun, formed by and for Serbians, wanted to supply a hospital in Niš to ensure safe delivery of babies and sustainable healthcare for their mothers.

Thanks to Norton Women and Children, Jewish Downtown, and Baptist Health Floyd for their donation of the life-saving pieces of medical equipment that were desperately needed at the hospital in Niš. When hospitals replace medical equipment with newer technology, we are grateful to them for donating the surplus equipment that still has life saving capacity.
We also worked with the Fultang Foundation to send medical supplies to the community of Nkongsamba, Cameroon. The Fultang family, all doctors originally from Cameroon, built a new hospital facility to serve the local population.

The container included bassinets from TriHealth in Cincinnati, an infant incubator from University Hospital and an anesthesia machine from Heartland Medical . These items will provide proper care to everyone from infants to the elderly. Dr. Mercy Fultang (above, second from left) was able to join us for the container loading and spent the day with the SOS team. This container is only the beginning of the hospital's story. We look forward to seeing what impact these new healthcare services can bring to the lives of local Cameroonians!

Stories From the SOS Family
In the past three months we have outfitted medical missions with more than 1,700 lbs of supplies to treat critical and common illnesses in 11 different countries! We received two reports from our teams in the field this month.

Dr. Mike Wu from the Phoenix International Foundation visited SOS in September to pack supplies to bring with him to Siam Reap, Cambodia. Dr. Wu and his team treated over 800 patients in two weeks! They treated illnesses common to the area such as respiratory infections and intestinal parasites.

We also worked with Dr. Shawn Taylor, a pediatrician from the University of Kentucky, to send supplies to pediatric clinics in Haiti. Dr. Taylor was in-country for 10 days where she worked in two clinics in St-Louis-du-Nord.

She had consults with children presenting a range of illnesses and followed up with those she treated earlier this year. One of the clinics instituted a nutrition program in order to keep children resilient enough to fight off illness. Dr. Taylor's team saw more than 200 patients in just over a week!

Volunteers Make Our Mission Possible
We are so grateful for our hospital partners! Not only do they support our mission through financial and medical donations, they also bring large groups of employees to volunteer with us. This month we had big groups from Norton Women's and Children's Hospital and Humana that sorted and packed supplies that are headed overseas.
