December 2022 Newsletter

Springvale Public Library

 Announcements:

We will be closed on December 24, and 26 for the Christmas Holiday

We are hosting a Boot and Shoe drive to benefit the York County Shelter Program and the Sanford Police Department. Children's shoes are a very desired item. Thank you for your generosity.

We have new patron computers! They have been loaded with Windows 11, expect some growing pains.

Would you like to make some cookies for our Annual Holiday Tea? We have a signup sheet at the main desk. Cookies should be delivered to the library on Wednesday, December 21st. Thank you for helping us spread some holiday cheer!

From the Director:

In 1906 something special happened. Susan Frost and Lillian Roberts thought that Springvale should have a place to exchange books. Indeed, 116 years later, the people of Springvale, Sanford, and beyond have joined together to make Springvale Library a unique place full of more than just books. The Springvale Library is a beating heart in this community. It's a refuge.

In your mailbox, you may receive an invitation to support the library in a financial way. Our annual appeal is our largest fundraiser of the year. I also know that it's the time of year when many organizations are making their plea. Please know that every donation, large or small, stocks or bequests matter so much to the library and are received with deep appreciation.

Thank you for being part of the Springvale Library family!

All the best that December has to offer,

Lesley Unger
