Chronic Pain Self-Management Program
An evidence-based program developed by the Self-Management Resource Center.
Join us for 6-weekly classes and learn:
- Skills to help you maintain a wellness focus and improve your quality of life
- Techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep
- Strategies for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance
- Appropriate use of medications
- Healthy eating
- Decision making and problem solving
Participants in this worldwide program are better able to manage their symptoms and have improved quality of life.
This program is supported by the Wellness Neighborhood and offered at no cost.
*Participation in all sessions is encouraged.

Signs and Symptoms: Presenting Features of Eating Disorders Webinar
Eating Disorders are at an all-time high, and all providers in our health system are likely seeing patients with eating disorders more than you think. This free webinar can be helpful for recognizing eating disorders in your practice so you can refer your patients for the help they need.
This webinar will review the most frequently identified features encountered by primary care providers and the diagnostic criteria for common eating disorders.

Infant & Child CPR
American Heart Association Family and Friends CPR Class*
Be prepared for life-threatening emergencies. This VIRTUAL CPR class is appropriate for caregivers of infants and children. Grandparents, siblings, nannies, babysitters, and anyone else wanting to learn how to help save a life!
In this class, you will learn:
- How to recognize when an infant or child needs rescue breathing
- How to perform CPR on infants and children
- How to care for an infant or child who is choking
You will watch a CPR movie and practice on infant and child manikins. A CPR manual will be provided. You can help save a life!

We offer this class FREE of charge because we care about improving the health of our community. Informing all expectant parents about birthing at Tahoe Forest Hospital.
Class includes:
- Education on Baby Friendly practices at Tahoe Forest Hospital
- Bonding with your baby during the first "magical" hour
- Rooming in to understand the baby's needs from the start
- Benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of human milk

Birthing with Confidence
Our goal is to make you as prepared as possible to welcome your baby into the world! This prepared childbirth class provides the tools you need to labor and birth naturally, with minimal intervention and/or without medication. The class covers what to expect in all the stages of labor, relaxation techniques, labor positions, breathing techniques, as well as medication, interventions, and an overview of cesarean section. Your partner/coach will learn how to support you during your birthing experience.

Intro to Yoga
Are you interested in learning about the ancient practice of yoga? Would you like to start experiencing the benefits of a practice that meets you where you are, and offers support for body, mind and community? Have you taken a few classes and want a deeper, more personal understanding of yoga’s history and benefits? Join us for a 4-week exploration of the 8 limbs of yoga, a practice with roots in South Asia that explores ethics, breath, movement and concentration. Each class will begin with conversation around the week’s theme, followed by 45 to 60 minutes of beginner practice. No experience is necessary. Please bring a notebook and pen, one or two blankets, and a firm cushion, pillow or bolster.
