City Awarded $175,000 Grant to Advance Community Policing Through Arts and STEM Integration for Underserved Youth
The City of Rancho Cordova has been selected as a recipient of a $175,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). The grant will support an innovative initiative aimed at strengthening community-police relations through educational programs focused on arts and STEM integration for underserved youth at the Rancho Cordova Youth Center (RCYC). The Rossmoor Bar Trails Enhancement Plan will improve access to the American River Parkway by enhancing the existing network of informal pedestrian trails at the Rossmoor Bar River Access, including leveling the ground, additional smooth dirt and gravel surfaces, uniform trail widths, and more.

Countryside Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation
Phase One of this project is currently under construction and will include rehabilitation of roadways in the Countryside Neighborhood, east of Routier Road at Highway 50. In addition to resurfaced roadways, this project will include upgraded drainage infrastructure, ADA-compliant curb ramps and high-visibility markings on the roadway. The project is anticipated to be complete in Spring 2025. Learn more

Chase Drive and American River Parkway Connection
A multi-use path is being added to Chase Drive from Coloma Road to the American River Parkway. Improvements include a separated pathway with new lighting, ADA-compliant curb ramps, high-visibility crosswalks, trees, landscaping and more. Phase one of this project will be complete late December 2024, and construction on phase two is anticipated to begin in Summer 2025. Learn more
