Thanks to all of you!
It's been a challenging time for all of us and thank you to all of our members for continuing to invest your money, time and energy into our Chamber and our local business community.
Rising tides floats all boats and it's heartwarming to see the Chamber Member community collaborating and helping each other these last couple of years. Supporting local is much more than a hashtag - it's an intentional way of being involved in our communities, working together, and looking out for each other. And this is the core of our Chamber purpose and values.
Here are some highlights for what to look out for in 2022.
CONNECT: Morning and evening networking opportunities throughout the year.
COACH: Outreach to support business and organizations with planning, sharing resources, and encouraging everyone to make the time to work on their business.
We will be hosting several workshops - as identified as priority in our survey:
*Marketing Strategies and Social Media/Online Presence (January)
*Human Resources - Employee Recruitment and Retention (February/March)
COLLABORATE: We will be hosting a Chamber Community Builders' Breakfast in the Spring. Details to follow.
COMMUNICATE: Continued communication through outreach, emails, video, phone calls and social media to help share relevant chamber, business and community information. Small Business Month, Shop Local, Plaid Friday, Small Business Season - are just a few of the initiatives and ways that we are engaging with the community to highlight the importance of supporting our local businesses and communities whenever possible.
CHAMPION: We will continue to support our network on provincial, regional and local advocacy and policy issues. Everything from COVID restrictions affecting business, to agricultural, to cannabis, to equality, to climate change. We have also started a series of professionally written stories about our local businesses to highlight our region and the business climate and community feel of the South Okanagan. The first stories will be shared over the next couple of weeks!
So thank you to all our members - without your commitment and investment
we would not have been able to support so many businesses and organizations this year. Business and community recovery takes all of us working together!
