DECEMBER UPDATES

Dear Friends and Supporters,

In today’s rapidly changing world, the Iowa City Foreign Relations Council (ICFRC) remains dedicated to its mission: fostering understanding of global issues and their impact on our local communities. For over 40 years, we have provided a space where individuals can come together to explore the pressing challenges of our time—engaging with diverse perspectives and connecting global events to the realities we experience here at home.

The moment calls for clarity and connection. Around the world, we see examples of division and uncertainty, but we also see countless opportunities for collaboration and renewal. History teaches us that democracies thrive when people are informed, engaged, and optimistic about their ability to make a difference.

We invite you to join us in this effort.

Attending an upcoming program is one way to stay informed and connected. From expert panels on pressing international issues to discussions that explore their local implications, our programs provide a platform for learning, reflection, and dialogue. By participating, you contribute to a culture of curiosity and understanding that strengthens our entire community.

Contributing to our work allows us to sustain and expand these vital opportunities. Your support helps ensure our programs remain accessible to all and continue to address the complex intersections of global and local challenges. It’s an investment in civic engagement, education, and the resilience of our shared democracy.

Sharing your voice in these conversations amplifies their impact. Whether through thoughtful questions at an event, discussions with friends and neighbors, or advocacy in your circles, your active participation reinforces the value of diverse perspectives.

Together, we can build a community that bridges divides and inspires action locally and globally.

ICFRC’s programs focus on topics that resonate across borders, from climate change and global security to cultural exchange and human rights. These issues are complex, but opportunities exist to find common ground and move forward together. By supporting ICFRC, you help build a stronger, more informed, and more connected community where engagement leads to understanding and understanding inspires action.

Your involvement is a powerful antidote to apathy. Together, we can meet the challenges ahead with hope and determination, fostering a future where shared knowledge strengthens our communities and the world.

Thank you for being part of this vital work. Your support and presence make a difference.

With gratitude,

Peter Gerlach
