December 2023

CHEER

As the season wraps us in its warm embrace, we want to extend our heartfelt wishes for a joyful and peaceful time to each of you. The magic of the season surrounds us in the kindness of others, the laughter of children, the lights shining aglow and the Hope this holiday brings.

This special time of year is an opportunity for us to pause and reflect on the impact we've made together and to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication to Senior Care Volunteer Network's mission of connecting seniors with services and volunteer opportunities to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. You are "angels here on earth" as one care receiver recently shared with me.

We invite you to join us at our office from December 18th to 21st for some festive holiday cheer. The open house is a small gesture of our appreciation for the dedication and hard work you, our cherished volunteers, contribute throughout the year. Your efforts are the heartbeat of our organization, and we look forward to connecting with you, celebrating with you, and thanking you for your time and commitment to serving others.

From our hearts to your home we wish you a season filled with warmth, joy, and the company of loved ones.

With Warm Regards,

Kerri Sutter

Holiday greetings to you and yours! May this time of year shine light on your blessings and bring new ones in the year to come. No one deserves joy more than you, our volunteers, who bring so much care and joy to area seniors. As we look at the trips, errands, and services in the weeks to come, we know many volunteers are away for the holidays or have family coming to visit. It can be difficult to find the time to volunteer, but still, you make the time to serve others. Extending heartfelt gratitude to each of you from all of us at SCVN and from the care receivers you so faithfully drive. Be sure and stop in one day next week for the open house, I will be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and would love to say hello and personally thank you.

Holiday Schedule Notice:

To ensure our volunteers enjoy well-deserved quality time with friends and family, please note the following changes to our office hours and service availability:

  • Christmas Break: Closed from Friday, December 22nd to Monday, December 25th.
  • New Year’s Break: Closed from Saturday, December 30th to Monday, January 1st.

Winter Weather Precautions:

With the holidays, winter weather is also upon us. Above all, the safety of both our volunteers and Care Receivers is our top priority. We strongly encourage you to review our Winter Weather Guidelines to stay prepared and safe. You can access these guidelines here: https://scvnmchenrycounty.org/winter-weather-guidelines/

Warmest Wishes,

As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to share a note of gratitude for your commitment and time throughout the year. Our volunteers are critical to our mission. Without you we couldn't do what we do. So while it may be a simple message, it's one the comes from the heart: thank you.

With the end of 2023 around the corner, we are still receiving a generous giving match by the Foglia Family Foundation. Every contribution, big or small, plays a crucial role in sustaining our vital services. If you've already donated, we extend our sincerest thanks. Your generosity is making a real difference. For those who are unable to contribute financially, your support in sharing our appeal with friends and family is equally valuable. Together, we're ensuring that our services continue to reach those who need them most.

Wishing you a holiday season filled with cheer and a new year full of hope.
