Auburn Pharmacy: Where Community, Care, and Health Come First -

By the Wellsville Chamber of Commerce

For more than 30 years, AuBurn Pharmacy has been a trusted, independently owned pharmacy serving communities throughout Kansas and Missouri. Since its founding, AuBurn has built its reputation on exceptional healthcare services and personalized attention that goes above and beyond what large corporate chains can provide.

At the heart of AuBurn’s mission is community. Each location, including the Wellsville pharmacy at 1012 Poplar Street, is staffed by a friendly and knowledgeable team dedicated to offering professional, compassionate care. Whether you’re picking up a prescription, seeking advice on over-the-counter remedies, or consulting with a pharmacist, you can always count on AuBurn for accuracy, attentiveness, and a personal touch.

“Our goal is to form close relationships with our patients,” said Alex Fletcher, Pharmacist at AuBurn Pharmacy in Wellsville. “That relationship allows us to better manage your medications and provide more thorough care than you’d typically find at a big-box pharmacy.”

AuBurn offers a full range of healthcare services designed to help customers live healthier, more informed lives. From prescription services and medication management to immunizations and health screenings, their pharmacists take the time to understand each person’s unique needs and ensure they receive the best possible care.

As the fall season sets in, Fletcher notes that “Flu Season is upon us! We are offering Flu and Covid vaccines, as well as other vaccines to help keep everyone up to date.”

One fun fact many might not know—AuBurn’s owner, Mike Burns, was born and raised in Eudora, Kansas. The company name itself is a creative blend of Burns’ name and that of the late Steve Auten, forming “AuBurn.”

Locally owned and deeply invested in the well-being of the communities it serves, AuBurn Pharmacy continues to set the standard for trusted, hometown healthcare.

Wellsville Chamber Sign Program

If you would like to advertise to the thousands of cars passing by our billboard on Highway 33 each day, we can help produce and display a banner designed just for your business. This Chamber sign is especially important to your business if you are a business located somewhere other than on 33 highway. Many people who live outside Wellsville or are coming off the highway to stop at Bert's or Casey's don't know what other businesses Wellsville has to offer. They might make it a point to use your services each time they are in town if they only knew where you were!

We have filled all our spots through 9/1/26! Thank you all for your support!

Wellsville Market Report

Paul Bean presented to the Wellsville Chamber of Commerce at our December meeting to inform us that Franklin county has the ability to create marketing reports of activity in our town derived from cell phone location tracking methods.

Paul provided each of us with a sample report (attached) showing when and where people who come to Wellsville visit. Paul also told us that the County can provide individualized reports based on the criteria that influences your business. Cool stuff!

USD #289 School District

Wellsville School District Projects and Programs:

USD 289 Semester Update -

As the first semester draws to a close, District Superintendent Ryan Bradbury wanted to share key highlights, progress, and plans for next semester regarding the school district's strategic plan. The district is dedicated to "Removing Hurdles to Break Barriers" and focusing on the "ONE WHOLE CHILD AT A TIME!" across academic, mental, physical, social/emotional, and civic engagement areas.

Enrollment & Support Trends -

  • Enrollment: The district has seen steady enrollment, with 856 total students on “count day” for the 2025-2026 school year. The district had an enrollment study completed last Spring. This study included future enrollment predictions. Wellsville School District is currently above the predicted enrollment by 3 students, which means the predictions have been accurate and on target to date. This is important to monitor as they plan for future academic and facility needs.
  • IEP Trend Data: The number of students supported through an Individualized Education Program (IEPs) continues to grow in USD 289. Currently, they have 195 students receiving IEP support. The number of students needing support in this manner continues to grow in USD 289 and is higher today than at any time over the last 10 years.
  • At-Risk Students: The percentage of at-risk students in USD 289 is 26.64%. This number also continues to grow and is higher today than at any time over the last 10 years.
