NOW OPEN: Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant
Applications for a second payment of the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant for businesses operating in areas where new health measures have been implemented is now open.

The Government of Alberta has committed up to $200 million in funding for the program.
The program provides a one-time payment to organizations that saw a 30% revenue reduction in April or May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grant funding amounts for the first payment are calculated based on 15% of the eligible organization’s pre-COVID-19 monthly revenue up to a maximum of $5,000 per business, cooperative or non-profit organization. The second payment is valued at 3 times the amount of the approved first payment, up to a maximum of $15,000.
Applications will be open until March 31, 2021 unless otherwise communicated.

COVID-19 Holiday Exemption for People Living Alone
  • Individuals who live alone may gather with one household for a single event between Dec. 23 and Dec 28.
  • During this time, a household can only host a single event and it can only include up to 2 people who live alone and their minor children.
  • This is an exemption to CMOH Order 42-2020, which allows an individual living alone to have up to 2 close contacts in other households.
  • Follow safety measures when gathering, especially with people over 65 and with people at higher risk of severe outcomes:
  • maintain 2 metres of distance
  • provide access to hand sanitizer
  • wear a mask when unable to maintain 2 metres of distance
Restriction Updates for Massage Therapy & Personal Counselling
Massage Therapy
Dr. Hinshaw has granted an exemption to allow massage therapy services for patients or clients with either a prescription from a physician or a referral from another regulated health professional, understanding that many massage therapists work in the same clinic as a chiropractor or a physiotherapist or get their referrals from a chiropractor or physiotherapist.

Personal Counselling
Dr. Hinshaw has made amendments to allow for private counselling services.

End-of-Life Visits
Dr. Hinshaw has made amendments to allow visits at home at the end of life for a family member, a friend, a faith leader or other person.

2021 Membership Renewal Invoices
Renewal invoices for 2021 have been sent out. For the inaugural year of the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber, we offered a 25% inaugural year discount for membership dues. The reason for this was to ease the unified members into the new Chamber.

For 2021, we recognize the hardship which has faced many of our members with managing COVID-19, and for that reason, we are going to continue offering a 25% discount in 2021. This will be visible on invoice renewals as the Resilience and Recovery Discount

A Platform to Promote Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, & Parkland County Businesses
With GPRC Connect, our vision is to give Parkland businesses a platform that showcases your entrepreneurial spirit. GPRC Connect will share inspirational and educational stories of Parkland businesses, provide exposure for local ventures, and give business owners a variety of opportunities to advertise directly to households in Parkland County, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and area.
The spring/summer issue of GPRC Connect will launch April 2021.

GPRC Connect will be replacing the previous Chamber Directory. A directory of Chamber members will still be included in the new magazine whether you advertise or not.

Kinsmen & Kinette Christmas Hampers
Cash Donations Are Still Needed
The Spruce Grove Kinettes lead the Hamper program for Spruce Grove & East Parkland residents, the Stony Plain Kinsmen lead the Hamper program for Stony Plain & West Parkland residents, and working together, they make Christmas brighter for local families struggling with a limited income.

While the Christmas Hampers are a joint venture for the Kinettes and Kinsmen, you can donate directly on their respective websites.

Academic Through Play. A hands-on approach of STEAM with ( science technology, engineering, arts and math) with language. The Child Club program involves children in a happy, engrossing and growing awareness of their world using a developing curriculum in which each child is an active participant. Social skills such as creative problem-solving, conflict resolution and collaboration are enhanced as our children and teachers work together to design and direct projects that encourage growth in physical, emotional, creative and intellectual domains. Children learn to express themselves verbally, graphically and through writing.
