Tides Night
An impactful January Tides Night included a special movie and pajama night featuring insightful conversations spurred by various movie clips. Conversations among the children were a beautiful indicator that they do understand the effects of grief on both the characters in a movie, but more importantly, in their own lives.

School Programming

January's School Programming has officially put Tides back in five districts in Centre County with the addition of Penns Valley School District! We're excited to serve new students this winter.

Welcome, Sara and Anna!

Tides is thrilled to welcome Sara and Anna, our new Tides interns. They will be working with Angie in School Programming groups and helping to develop new activities and enhance school grief support groups.

Evelyn had the opportunity to speak to the Delta Health Class about grief and grief management. The students were engaged and responsive. We extend a huge thank you to the teachers who are offering these unique opportunities to students!

Upcoming Collaborations

We're excited for some upcoming collaborations with various organizations such as: Alliance of Heroic Hearts, Twinkling Tiara Parties, Amy Frank of the Makery and Discovery Space. More details to come!

THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS!

On Friday, January 30, the Tides Volunteer Appreciation Dinner brought together Tides Staff, Board and volunteers for an evening event in honor of our volunteers. These individuals make Tides the safe, welcoming environment that our participants benefit from every Tides Night gathering. We wouldn't be where we are today without these generous individuals and the time they give to our organization.

Save the Dates

Grief Matters is an educational seminar taking place on May 1 at Calvary Harvest Fields, bringing together professionals and community members who support grieving children and families. This year’s theme, “The Ripple Effect: Supporting the Whole System When a Child Grieves,” explores how loss impacts not only the child, but families, schools, and communities. Presenters from the Highmark Caring Place and the Fred Rogers Institute will share insight, tools and practical strategies to help create compassionate, connected support systems for children navigating grief.

A Night at the Barn is a special evening benefiting the programs at Tides, taking place on August 14, 2026 at Rolling Rails Lodge. This event brings our community together to support children, teens and adults navigating grief.

Proceeds from the event directly support Tides’ programs, ensuring compassionate care, connection and resources remain accessible to those who need them most.

Visit our Tides Facebook page for more information on these events.
