Our Thanks to YOU as We Wrap 2018

2018 was quite a year for King of Prussia! We welcomed new headquarters and employees to our business community, added a wide variety of restaurants and retail to our already impressive dining and shopping scene, and saw a much-needed influx of luxury multi-family housing options come online. All around us, infrastructure improvements are underway, enhancing walkability and connecting residents and employees to amenities like never before. Now more than ever, it is an amazing time to live, work, play and stay in King of Prussia. And with so many incredible development projects on the horizon, the future looks pretty bright too!

As we enter into our 9th year working to improve the economic environment in KOP, King of Prussia District would like to thank our stakeholders, sponsors, elected officials, partners and friends that help us fulfill our mission of making KOP more vibrant, attractive and prosperous. There are many King of Prussia District program highlights that we cannot wait to share at our upcoming Annual Meeting and Holiday Reception: The successful implementation of the Road Diet in Moore Park KOP; the record-breaking revenue brought in for KOP Beerfest Royale to fund more physical improvements in Upper Merion Township; and our biggest donation ever to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on behalf of our restaurant and retail partners involved in 2018 KOP Restaurant Week and KOP Shops for CHOP...to name a few.

Our accomplishments are truly YOUR accomplishments, as they would not be possible were it not for the support of our public and private partners. We are honored to work alongside you, and recognize the important part that all of you play in building a better future for our community. Thank you for your support this year!

King of Prussia is a place of prosperity, with unrivaled amenities, a vibrant culture and welcoming environment for businesses, visitors and residents alike. It is also a place that values community. As the largest employment center in suburban Philadelphia and home to over 4,000 companies, we are proud that so many of our colleagues and friends in the business community use the holiday season as an opportunity to give back to those less fortunate.

We want to highlight a few wonderful area companies and organizations that are spreading the love this season:

Arkema Inc. employees came together this holiday season to spread joy in support of three local organizations. Last month, Arkema presented Cecil and Grace Bean's Soup Kitchen with a $5,600 check to help nourish those in the area who are food insufficient. Teaming up with Carfango Chevrolet, Arkema's thiochemicals business unit stuffed two dozen holiday stockings for Soldiers' Angels, which serves veterans and deployed soldiers. Another Arkema employee giving campaign supporting The Fiaria Project will last throughout December. The Fiaria Project creates "Transition Kits" consisting of clothing, toiletries and other basic items to help foster families and children settle into their new environment.

DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton
Last week, DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton held their 10th annual Thanks-4-Giving luncheon, where they collected nearly 500 pounds of food donations for Philabundance and new and gently used coats, hats and gloves for Cradles to Crayons. This event brings together their partners throughout the year for a beautiful holiday celebration with a wonderful charitable tie-in.

GVF is currently holding its 8th annual Holiday Food Drive, benefitting Philabundance. The drive takes place from now until December 17, with multiple drop-off points. Learn More...

Judge Group
The Judge Group just wrapped up a months-long drive to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) that included participation in the Light the Night Walks across 20+ of their locations! They raised over $61,000 this year and have raised and donated over $150,000 for LLS and the fight against cancer over the past three years. They also completed an annual food drive that collected 1,200 pounds of food for local food banks. Currently, they are holding a toy drive for Toys for Tots and also have several groups within the company that have adopted families through the Bring Hope Home Adopt-a-Family Program.

King of Prussia Mall
A mecca of fashion and retail, King of Prussia Mall gives back by collecting gently used coats for those in need. Stay tuned for more information on this year's coat drive coming in January.

Radial is currently holding a food drive for Philabundance. The food drive runs from November 26 to December 19. Last year, they were able to collect 797 pounds of food and they hope to beat that number this year!

Upper Merion Township
Upper Merion Township is in the spirit of giving every holiday season! This year they are collecting new coats, hats, gloves, mittens, socks etc. in their Share the Warmth drive.
