Explore a Winnipeg holiday tradition for all generations! The Children's Museum is pleased to be the home of the last original Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes Display from the ninth floor annex of the Eaton's downtown store - fully restored and open to the public for a limited time only.
Visitors of all ages will be delighted by the fifteen fun, fairytale vignettes (some of which can be traced back as early as the 1940s!) that make up this classic holiday favourite including Cinderella, Humpty Dumpty, Three Blind Mice, and more.
Please note that our standard museum admission policies will be in effect for this exhibition. The Children's Museum reserves the right to restrict admitting children unaccompanied by adults as well as adults unaccompanied by children.

The Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes are a traditional holiday favourite for generations of Winnipeggers. We are pleased to honour that tradition by offering guided tours of the exhibition to guests of all ages every* Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from November 16, 2018 to January 6, 2019 at 11:00AM and 2:00PM. Guided Exhibition Tours are included in general museum admission during the holiday season or are available for $5.00 (plus GST) per person. 
*Tours will not be available on December 24 and 31 due to holiday closure and the Top Hats & Tiaras Family New Year's Eve Event.

December 17 is Cookies & Milk With Santa! Join us from 10:45AM - 11:15AM and 12:45PM - 1:15PM for two special story times with a very special, jolly guest! Cookies and milk will be available prior to each story time while supplies last.    
Note: This is the last Mini Monday before the holiday season. Mini Mondays resume January 7, 2019.


Children's Museum members can rediscover the magic of a holiday classic with a special Nutcracker promotion. This holiday season, our members get $11 off* the purchase of their tickets to see Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Nutcracker ! The breathtaking production features a cast of characters of all ages from the RWB School and Company. A magical Tchaikovsky score is showcased in its full glory by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and accompanied by a live choir whose voices soar as Clara and her Prince begin their journey. Nutcracker runs from December 19 - 29, 2018.

Instead of recycling your gift boxes, bring them to the Children's Museum for a day of building extravaganza. Can you build a tower as tall as you? What about a train? If cardboard boxes aren't for you, we have some bricks that can be used too! Join us between 11:00AM - 3:00PM for box-loads of fun.

Part of our Explore-Abilities Access Program, join us on Saturday, December 29 for an Explore-Abilities Morning - a sensory-friendly museum experience designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to have fun and enjoy interactive, hands-on learning in a safe and accessible facility!
Christmas might be past, but Santa loves the museum so much he's sticking around! Take a photo on your personal camera with our specially trained Sensitive Santa. This opportunity is first come, first served.

We'll have top hats and tiaras to help you look spectacular for the occasion. Once your family looks super stylish step in line for a souvenir photograph taken by Ebonie Klassen Photography. Enjoy live musical entertainment by The Solutions, hands-on science activities with   Let's Talk Science, festive balloon creations by Balloons by Mike, a ginger ale toast to 2018, and a festive 1000-balloon drop led by Countdown Emcees Drew Kozub and Karly Troschuk from KiSS 102.3's KiSS Morning's with Drew & Karly as we ring in the New Year at noon!
