KentPresents Grants $125,000 to 38 Litchfield County Charitable Organizations KentPresents, the ideas festival held every summer in Kent, Conn., is awarding grants of $125,000 to 38 non-profit organizations serving Litchfield County. This year's contribution represents a 25% dollar increase from the $100,000 donation in 2016, when 29 local organizations received grants. Park & Recreation
Figure Skating Lessons: Kent Park and Recreation will offer figure skating lessons for boys and girls, ages 6 and up, 7-8 a.m. at the Kent School ice rink in three four-week sessions this season:Session One with Joanna Dumitrascu is November 18, December 2, 9, 16; session two with Marika Coolbeth is January 6, 13, 20, 27; session three with Marika Coolbeth is February 3, 10,17, 24. Lessons for beginning students are 7-7:30 a.m.; intermediate and above meet 7:30-8 a.m.Students registered for lessons (only) may skate during the 30 minutes opposite their lesson time.Cost is $44/student per session. Holiday Ice Skating: Kent Park and Recreation will sponsor ice skating at the Kent School ice
rink December 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29: open skate, 10 a.m.-noon; sticks and pucks, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Participants must wear skates and hat on the ice during open skate and skates and helmet during sticks and pucks. A park pass is required and can be purchased at the rink during skating hours.
Senior activities
Friday Senior Lunch:
The program meets Fridays at the Kent Senior Center, Swifts Lane, and is open to Kent senior citizens at a cost of $2/person for lunch, which is served at noon. The center opens at 11:30 a.m. The program goes on winter break from December 9 until March 23.
Senior Art Group:
meets Thursday mornings, 9:30-noon, at the Kent Senior Center, 16 Swifts Lane. Bring own supplies, free.

* Saturday Dec. 2- Kent Land Trust - Annual Meeting and Holiday party. 5:30-7 p.m. @ the Community House. All are welcome * Sunday Dec. 3- 5 p.m. Town Tree Lighting in front of Town Hall. 6 p.m.- KVFD Parade of Lights on Main St All day- KVFD Stuff a Truck @ the firehouse.
*Saturday December 9th- Pancakes with Santa 8:30am to 10:30am at St. Andrews Parish Hall . Proceeds benefit the Kent
Education Center and Nursery School (KECNS)

Kent Historical Society Holiday Party 5-7 p.m. at Swift House . Free and open to public. Donations gratefully accepted.
*Sunday December 10th- The Kent Historical Society Historical House Tour will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. Everyone meets at the Swift House, 12 Maple Street, Kent, to pick up their map with directions and descriptions of the homes.
Advance tickets are available for $45 per person online and in person at the Heron Gallery, Kent Wine & Spirit, and the Kent Town Clerk's Office. The price jumps to $60 on the day of the tour. Proceeds from the event will be used by the Kent Historical Society for its operating budget.
