Keedra's Dedication

After many months and a few bumps along the way, Habitat's 76th home is complete! We are excited to announce we will be celebrating with Keedra and her son Damien, on April 12 at 5:00 p.m. Join us at 17040 North Telegraph Road in Doswell to help this family ring in the next chapter of their life!

Construction Intern

Thanks to the Future Community Impact Makers: Atlantic Union Bank Intern Grant Program, we will be hiring a summer construction intern. This individual will work for 8 weeks and learn construction planning, permits, and county processes necessary for construction; knowledge of nonprofit work and affordable housing; and more. To read more and apply, visit us online.

Welcome, Randy

We are excited to welcome our new controller, Randy Nunn! Randy joined us in mid-March and has been working with Maria to get up to speed before she retires at the end of April. Randy has over 25 years of accounting experience and spent 8 years in the nonprofit world at the Southern Baptist Convention of Virginia. He is excited to join the organization and be a part of Habitat’s mission. Randy lives in Mechanicsville and enjoys spending time with his wife and family and doing things around the house. He is also active with his church, working in their youth program. Welcome Randy!

Habitat's First King William Homebuyer

Habitat would like to introduce you to Lealie Russ, the first homebuyer in King William. Ms. Russ grew up in King William and works in Walkerton. She is excited to be purchasing Habitat's W. River lot and is looking forward to not having to walk up a flight of stairs to get into her apartment. Learn more about Ms. Russ online and look for upcoming volunteer opportunities to work on her home!

Running Water

This picture may not look like much, but this is a beautiful sight to a family who previously had no running water. Thanks to our repair program, this homeowner is grateful to be able to use the bathroom now without having to fill buckets to flush the toilet. Angel said her greatest wish was to be able to take a shower! It’s the little things that we take for granted sometimes.
