More and more yoga studios are built for and cater to the NON-yogic YOGI! You have to try. There are just so many benefits to doing yoga.

On medication: 
We do not have GERD or acid reflux due to a lack of antacids, therefore taking antacids won't fix GERD. 
On eating: 
We need to eat like our lives depend on it. Oksana found this (picture on left) prepped healthy meal kit at Fred Meyers!
On exercise: 
You can workout until you feel better. It is a certain eventuality.

Hey, you're in the zone. Now get out!

Expand your comfort zone once in awhile. 

You go through life. This and that and the other. Fine. The bumps and dips in the "road" have less depth and they are fewer and farther in between. Life is comfortable. Some call it a rut. It's really just life. 

S O U N D  F A M I L I A R?! 

We know when we're comfortable, we're not growing. Our brain, much like our bodies, naturally tightens up over time unless it gets a workout. And workouts don't happen in the comfort zone where we're not being challenged. 

Our worlds tend to get smaller as our comfort zone shrinks. Expanding our comfort zones will open us up to greater fulfillment and better wellbeing as we age. 

A 2013 study found that learning new and demanding life skills, while also maintaining a strong social network, can help us stay mentally sharp as we get older. 

Adding a new class, a yoga class perhaps, can boost us up into the growth zone. Yoga challenges our bodies, minds and spirit. It's good for us all around. Try something new this week. Give your brain a boost. 

A good jumpstart to help expand the comfort zone: "Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen." says Brené Brown, author of "Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead."

nuPatient Thoughts: Robyn

Inspired by passions laid dormant for so very long, an awakening is stirring in my soul.

What is it? and Why Now?  Sleep escapes me as this stirring within is gaining such momentum. Determined to understand, I contemplate my journey; the path becomes clear.  Awareness is my 1st step,  Intention, my 2nd. 

September brings change, the obvious seasonal change at the very least. Being relentless creatures of habit may stir resistance to change; bringing in the "what if" thoughts about your current situations. Yes, change can appear stressful, possibly even frightful. And yes, it can also provide opportunities for renewal, starting again, seeing life as fresh.

Wishing you all Renewed Awareness, as we step in to new seasons.

These tortillas can be microwaved or baked or lightly fried in avocado oil. 

This "sour cream" tastes just like the real thing - maybe even better.
