News for Living, Working and Playing in Deerfield Township

Join us on Wednesday, June 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the first of four community visioning workshops to help shape the future of Deerfield parks. We need your feedback about our facilities and programming to create a Comprehensive Parks Master Plan.

The workshop will begin with a brief presentation, followed by breakout sessions designed to encourage small group discussion. You'll be able to discuss ideas and ask questions. In the first workshop, we'll gather feedback that will help us develop a community-wide survey, which will be distributed online later this summer.

The workshop will take place in the Columbia Intermediate School cafeteria. Additional workshops are planned in September, October and November. Visit our website to view the entire schedule.

Are you interested in saving money while protecting the quality of our community's water supply? The Deerfield Regional Storm Water District is partnering with the Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District to host a Rain Barrel Workshop on Wednesday, June 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fire Station 57 in Loveland.

Rain barrels allow homeowners to collect water that runs off their home's roof during a storm so that it can be used later to water their lawns and gardens. They conserve water and limit the amount that makes its way into community stormwater collection basins. Because rain water is free, rain barrels can even reduce the expenses you see each month on your water bill.

The $45 registration fee includes the purchase of a rain barrel and diverter kit for your home. The workshop will include tips for installation.

Online registration by Friday, June 15, is required. To learn more, visit the Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District website.
