News for Living, Working and Playing in Deerfield Township

Excellent schools. Diverse cultural amenities. Premier public services. There are so many reasons residents, businesses and visitors choose Deerfield that it can be hard to stay on top of everything going on in and around the township. Well, we don't want you to miss any of the exciting news. That's why we're reinvigorating this newsletter to provide you with regular, ongoing updates about special events, important announcements and upcoming deadlines. Send us your thoughts about what you find helpful or want to see in future emails, and encourage your friends and neighbors to sign up, too.

In Deerfield Township, we're lucky to have engaged citizens who value the dynamic quality of life and services they find here. To ensure we're focusing our work on what you value most, we recently engaged Market Street Services, a national community and economic development firm, to help us facilitate strategic planning for the township. Through this process, we'll create an action agenda that directs our priorities for the next several years as we work to make our community an even more prosperous, successful and vibrant place to live, work and do business.
Market Street has launched an online survey, and we're encouraging anyone who lives or works in Deerfield Township or surrounding areas to respond. The survey will be open until Friday, Aug. 18, at 5 p.m.
Your feedback is important to us. We hope you'll take a few minutes to complete our survey and share the link with others who want to get involved.

Orange Barrels Mean Progress

If you've driven down Mason-Montgomery Road recently, you've probably noticed a few orange barrels along the way. Our partners at the Warren County Transportation Improvement District (TID) are managing the Mason-Montgomery Road Widening Project, which will ease congestion and improve safety in this well-traveled area. In the short-term, those barrels may mean a few extra minutes for your daily commute, but they also demonstrate significant progress toward our efforts to enhance your local transportation network.
When complete, construction will create an additional lane on northbound Mason-Montgomery Road from Parkway Drive to Socialville-Fosters Road, as well as an additional lane southbound from Socialville-Fosters Road to Escort Drive. New pedestrian walkways and bike paths also will be added. Finally, curb, gutter and storm sewer upgrades will be made.
The orange barrels will soon be a distant memory, but the improvements left behind provide lasting benefits for our region.
