Passing Zone Defensive Driving
This 6-hour driving safety course is state certified by TEA for ticket dismissal and/or for auto insurance discounts. Material is presented in a fun, fast paced manner and includes group discussions, informative videos, and more. There will be a short break for lunch. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. $45 MEMBER / $50 NON-MEMBER

Baby Sitter Certification
Parents are more apt to hire a babysitter who can show they have completed and been certified by the American Heart Association. Students learn what to do in case of an emergency, how to avoid dangerous situations, first-aid care of cuts and burns and certification in CPR/AED. From feeding a toddler or infant and changing diapers to keeping their environment safe… this class covers it all! $90 Member / $100 Non-Member

American Heart Association
CPR/AED FOR ADULT, CHILD & INFANT: You never know when an emergency may arise; being prepared by knowing the basics in CPR/AED use could save a family member, a friend or someone in a life threatening situation you walk upon. This program will familiarize you with CPR and AED so you will be more comfortable and confident in an emergency situation. When you have completed this class, you will have American Heart Association certifications for both AED and CPR. $65 Member / $70 Non-Member

FREE! Create Flower Mandalas and Nature Art! 
 Celebrate Earth Day by appreciating the land we live on and the beauty all around us. You will be guided as you wander for treasure and create art from earth objects in this process all are sure to enjoy.

Steef Crombach was born in Maastricht in the South of the Netherlands. She earned her B.F.A from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the Hague. She has won numerous awards and was the recipient of the renowned 'Contribution young talent' grant from the Mondriaan Fund in the Netherlands. After visiting the United States for extended periods of time to curate, teach, exhibit and research, Steef officially located to Austin. She continues to show her collections on international platforms.
Steef is a passionate artist and enjoys sharing her love of art with others. She is inspirational and her enthusiasm is shared in classes and in life. You will discover new talents and creative growth in your artwork.
New Instructor & Class! Batik
This class is suitable for beginners or anyone who loves working with dye and fabric. This immersive class will help you develop your own style and themes on fabric. Learn the Batik wax resist dying process from making your own dye and apply the hot wax to boiling out your own fabrics. Your end results are long lasting and washable. Make a back patch for a jean jacket, a big contemporary room divider or a fabric that can be used for your other sewing projects. $220 Members / $240 Non-Members

Mental Fitness with Maria 
Maria, a 14 year meditator and spiritual fitness teacher contributes her recovery from fibromyalgia, and a life of health, well-being, flexibility and resiliency through life's challenges and metal focus on meditation and various other healing activities. She has taught meditation to all ages and professions…from kids to business professionals. After a near fatal accident years ago, she came to life through the power of her breathe and activates this power to all her students. 60% of all doctors visits are associated with life stresses, practicing meditation has been found to reduce stress and assists in lowering blood pressure, cholesterol and risk of heart disease. The additional benefits of meditation include inner peace, gratitude, mental clarity and awareness with an increased sense of well being. 




Mental Fitness with Maria 
Mind Power through meditation and controlled breathing techniques to increase your focus, concentration and memory power. These powerful techniques help to alleviate stress, declutter the mind, give you full body relaxation, centeredness and inner peace.

Principles of TaeKwonDo
Coach Wagner is an AAU certified coach, a fitness and personal trainer, who has a black belt and competed professionally. This program incorporates many aspects used in popular workouts today like kick boxing , self defense and others which were derived from from TaeKwonDo help you get in shape while practicing real martial arts techniques in a high paced Taekwondo based fitness class for all skill levels. $80 Members / $85 Non-Members

Pickleball
For the last several years, the sport of pickleball has been dubbed the “fastest growing sport in America.” One reason for it's popularity is that it is a fun sport for all ages and designed for all levels of fitness. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton that is played on a court about one-third the size of a tennis court with a net that is 34 inches high at the center using an over-sized ping pong paddle and a perforated ball similar to a wiffle ball.  Sign up and attend these classes and you will fast become a fan yourself.

Therapeutic Yoga/Tai Chi
Dr. Arbeit has quite a life story…after a severe accident, he lived a portion of life filled with immobility and pain. He is very passionate about this program and attributes his current health and well-being to Tai Chi and Yoga, techniques which enhance the immune system, increase range of movement, and improve outlook of life both physically and mentally. There are many class times to choose from, so sign up today. Classes will be held at the Activity Center January-March, and then will be held at the Sculpture Garden beginning in April. The Sculpture Garden is located at the corner of Cross Creek and Lohmans Crossing at 104 Cross Creek and class is under the large oak tree.

Tai Chi & Qigong in the Park w/ Gayl Hubatch
Gayl has traveled the world and studied TaiChi with renown Tai Chi Masters. She is passionate about her programs and sharing the many health benefits with you. Tai Chi involves a sequence of movements and steps to train the brain to improve balance and cognitive function, increase flexibility and strength, deepen and improve lung function and immunity and develop a sense of awareness and well-being.
This class is held at 8:30am on Tuesdays at the basketball court at City Park, March 9-30

Most people can practice Tai Chi arts in spite of handicaps or ailments.
Chair Yoga with Monika

Chair yoga helps provide a full vertebral workout from a chair! Chair yoga is recommended for folks recovering from injuries or who may have difficulty getting up and down off the floor. Many of the stretches and moves are useful for those who sit in front of their computer for long periods during the day. Regardless if you are maintaining health or trying to improve, chair yoga is a gentle and successful way to maintain proper alignment, balance and sense of well being. $12 members / $15 non-members per class

YOGA FOR WELL BEING: Kate teaches mindful, breath-centric classes.  This program helps students of all ages explore how to unwind painful patterns, correct physical tightness or weakness, melt the grip of stress and generally improve functionality in daily life with minimal transitions to and from the floor. Everyone is encouraged to do only as much as is comfortable but modifications and alternatives are offered to help provide a complete yoga work out. $18 Drop In

Low Impact Aerobic Class
Certified Fitness Instructor Stephanie McMurray has been teaching fitness classes in the Lakeway community for over 25 years. Improve your aerobic fitness, strength and endurance using light weights and a variety of fun exercises and soon you will notice improvements in balance, coordination, mobility and even in positive energy. People of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to come to class and get an overall body workout.

Kidventure Returns to Lakeway!
Kidventure is an award-winning camp program rooted in adventure, learning, and growth. For 27 years Kidventure has been focused on bringing kids together with the specific and intentional mission to help raise happy and healthy kids in the unique environment of camp. That need has never been greater than now!

● Camp is open to all children including Explorers (entering 1st grade through 5th grade)
● Select from any weeks of camp beginning June 1, 2021
● Each camp week is Monday-Friday from 8 AM-3:00 PM. Option for 3 PM-6 PM.
● Activities include (athletics, rock climbing, swimming, art, science, archery tag, art,
science, team building and much more)

Caregiver w/child: Roll up your sleeves, bring dinner home and munch during class! All recipes are gluten free, soy free and suitable for those with dairy and nightshade intolerance. Class can be taught in English and Spanish as students like.

5-7 yrs: Children's education can begin in the Kitchen. Math, science, art, motor skills and palette development. Know that you child will not be a nuisance filled with curiosity in the Kitchen after this class.

TaeKwonDo
Coach Will and his family all have black belts and have competed and won national championships. He has a passion for TaeKwonDo and enjoys sharing his passion for the sport with all ages of students. The 5 major components for TaeKwonDo are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. Fencing
Discover the Olympic Sport of Fencing! Whether you want to compete professionally or just continue because of your competitive nature, this program will train your skills in attacking and defending, footwork, blade work , agility, balance, strategy, sportsmanship and the rules of the game in this world renown sport! Students MUST wear long comfortable pants, athletic shoes and t-shirt.

Soccer Shots
You can still sign up! We will prorate these classes! Soccer Shots is the national leader in youth soccer development. This program has been created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, MLS and USL professional soccer players, and experienced and licensed soccer coaches. Their innovative lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and tailored specifically to three distinct age groups. Soccer Shots aims to leave a lasting, positive impact on every child they serve. Through fun games, songs, and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. Registration is directly through Soccer Shots. There is an additional registration fee annually. Will prorate if space is available.

Upcoming Events
Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, Parks & Recreation is hosting the Earth Day Fact Find April 10 – April 25 in Lakeway City Park. Trivia questions about conservation will be placed across various trails and facilities. Participants will use their phones to scan a code and answer the questions in an online form. Learn ways to help protect the environment while enjoying a day at the park with this fun event. Players will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win some fun prizes too!

Enchanted Forest
Our first Enchanted Forest Walk takes place April 17 – May 2, 2021 from dawn to dusk.. Tiny fairy and gnome homes line the way as you stroll under a canopy of magical trees and twinkling lights. Located on the trail behind Lakeway City Hall. This event is free and open to all. Parking available at Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek Lakeway, TX 78734. Please, no dogs.

I Heart Parks
Saturday May 1, join Parks & Recreation in beautifying Lakeway with I Heart Parks day. This volunteer event will kick off at Lakeway Swim Center with a continental breakfast where you will receive your location assignments. From there, head to your location to assist in planting and mulching garden beds. Registration is required.

Little Free Library
Remember, we recently added the Little Free Library in the porta cache in front of the Activity Center and keep this stocked with hardbacks, best sellers and youth books. This is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Little Free Library is a nonprofit that builds community, inspires readers, and expands book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led little libraries.

There are currently 5 Little Free Libraries in Lakeway! Go to: LittleFreeLibrary.org for their stories and locations.
