Defined Fitness Members,

First and foremost, thank you all for your patience as we all work through the ongoing uncertainty and changes surrounding COVID-19 and how this impacts Defined Fitness and your membership.

Yesterday we heard confirmation of the positive news that gyms are allowed to reopen effective Wednesday, December 2nd with capacity restrictions. As a result we are working diligently to call back our teams and prepare to reopen Defined Fitness tomorrow on December 2nd. There will be limited capacity in accordance with the Governor’s recent three-tier reopening plan. We were excited to hear that full-service gyms were reclassified from the close contact category, which allows us to offer full-service amenities to 25% of capacity or 75 members at a time. This decision is a positive step in the right direction and demonstrates the important role fitness plays in the health of our communities as part of New Mexico's reopening plan.

For the last six months we have operated at varying levels of restrictions, and we have been fortunate to continue to serve thousands of members safely during that time. In fact gyms across New Mexico have zero rapid responses reported as of today on the State’s website, showing that gyms are not part of the problem, but we are the solution for creating healthy communities prepared to fight the virus.

We are grateful to have opened three news clubs in the last ten months, and we can now service more members than we have ever before with a total of eight gyms now serving the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Farmington and Santa Fe markets. You may experience a wait when you visit our clubs. If you have flexibility in your schedule, we recommend visiting our clubs during off-peak times including early morning, late night or before or after the lunch hour.  Our hours of operation are from 4:30 AM – 10 PM Monday-Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 AM – 7 PM. If you have a personal training appointment or a Jump Start you will receive priority access to the club.

Even with the newest capacity limitations we will be keeping the majority of our services open and available for you our members with the continuation of the restrictions that were in place pre-closure.

Open Areas:

  • All strength training and functional areas will be open and available for use.
  • Cardio machines will remain open and spaced for 6’ social distancing.
  • All outdoor workout spaces will remain open.
  • Group Exercise, Cycling and Team Training rooms will be open for member use.
  • Pools will remain open for lap swimming.

Restricted Areas:

  • Showers will remain closed.
  • Hot Tubs and Saunas will remain closed.
  • Kids Club will remain closed.

We will be announcing our updated Group Exercise schedule on Monday, December 7th. All our Group Exercise classes will be limited to ten participants per class.

Our Defend Your Health best practices will remain in place with temperature checks, zero contact APP check-ins, mask requirement and our stringent cleaning and disinfecting protocols to keep our members safe.

Membership billing will resume for the month of December. If you have a personal training contract, your billing will resume in December and you will be contacted by a Personal Training Manager to schedule your sessions. We have applied a credit for the time that we were closed to the last month of your membership or January, whichever is later. We ask for your patience when we reopen as we work diligently to respond to all phone calls and website inquires.

Thank you for the outpouring of support you have provided over the last several weeks. It is a testament to the strength of our community and your unwavering commitment to your health. We look forward to seeing you again in our clubs on Wednesday as we continue to work together to stay healthy and strong.

Best In Health,
