In 2017 we are celebrating 150 years of Confederation. Those at the college are celebrating 166 years of existence. Not many schools can boast being older than the country they're in. Follow along as we compare important dates in Canadian history with those of De La Salle's history!
Fifty years is a lifetime. John Hunt has given a lifetime of animated teaching to De La Salle College, and in return, he has created a legacy held in the hearts and minds of his students and colleagues.
In 1967, after completing a degree at the University of Toronto, John Hunt continued with his education by enrolling in additional classes at the U of T – he did this as a professional squash player. He worked from noon to eight p.m. and he had mornings off. A friend of Hunt's was involved in plays at Del, suggested they meet with Brother Walter for lunch.
25 years ago in June 1992, the 141st class of De La Salle College "Oaklands," aka the class of 1992, just graduated. They left great memories behind as they moved forward to take on the world!
The annual Father Michael Luchka Golf Tournament celebrates the life of Father Michael. Alumni, parents and friends of the community came ready to play on the 22nd of June to Royal Woodbine golf course.
Going to De La Salle College during the Second World War "really was not that different from now", William Poole '48 says. He was born in Toronto in 1930, attended St. Clare Elementary Catholic School and then later entered De La Salle.
Cedric Yarish '11 succeeds across the pond in London.
Creativity was something Cedric Yarish DEL ‘11 always excelled at. During his time at De La Salle College "Oaklands" he was extremely involved in sports, ran a successful YouTube channel and experimented with video.

Alumni Join Students in Pirates Revival
After seven months of extensive rehearsal and preparation, Theatre De La Salle launched its 65th anniversary revival of Gilbert and Sullivan's musical farce The Pirates of Penzance on April 27 and was presented over two evenings and one matinee performance to incredibly enthusiastic audiences.
