Summer is finally here! Additionally, many health mandates are also relaxing. It is time to get out and back into life, vising with friends, neighbors and other community members. You can almost feel the anticipation mounting!

Although we all look forward to return to some semblance of “normal” it is important to do so safely:
• While driving, be aware of your surroundings, motorists need to obey speed restrictions and share the roadway with pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists. Wear your seatbelt and make sure all passengers do as well. Utilize a designated driver if you plan to consume alcoholic beverages.
• If you are riding a motorcycle, wear eye protection and drive defensively. • Pedestrians need to be aware when crossing streets and walk on roadways against (facing) traffic.
• Bicyclists need to obey traffic regulations, including stop signs.
• Show each other some basic level of respect.
Respecting each other and our individual right to be safe in the community we share will aid significantly in the ability for everyone to enjoy this summer. This also is relevant in terms of all aspects of our individual lives. Show respect and you will be more likely to receive respect, despite individual opinions, differences or any other factor.
Enjoy the summer, but give others the opportunity to do so, as well!
Steven Paul Designs
Thank you to Steven Paul designs for being the Presenting Sponsor of the Delafield Block Party for the 11th year!

There’s nothing quite like a hand-crafted, one of a kind, jewelry piece from Steven Paul Designs. Their artisan jewelers take painstaking efforts to make sure your custom designed jewelry piece is exactly as you envisioned it would be.
In this season of celebration, we enjoy the loud booms and bright colors that are seen and heard with fireworks. However, these should be left to the trained professional. Each year thousands of people are transported to emergency rooms with significant Injuries due to firework accidents. Many of these accidents involve kids and young teens. By following a few simple recommendations you and your family can enjoy fireworks in a safe manner. As always follow the manufacture safety guidelines when dealing with all fireworks. You should also never leave kids unsupervised around fireworks. During the 4th many young kids will handle sparklers, most parents believe these are a relatively safe activity for kids. However, these sparklers can burn at temperatures over 2,000 degrees. Fireworks are a common tradition in celebrating Independence Day however, they can also be extremely dangerous. Always use cation and feel free to reach out to LCFR with any questions.
