Can you believe we are already into March? It feels like 2022 is flying by!
We didn't have any large events in February in Delafield- but we are gearing up for a filled Spring and Summer. Construction has started Downtown. The area is fenced in and the digging has started already. We are excited for this new addition to Delafield but with all construction, we know there will be some learning and growing pains along the way.
We ask you as our community to help keep Delafield thriving. Please remember to shop local when you can and continue to dine at your amazing restaurants. Thankfully, since COVID, we have all learned to pivot with our businesses and we have learned to get creative in marketing and step outside the box in normal business routines. I think Delafield is run by amazing business owners and I anticipate that we will see a lot of this again during construction.
Have you marked your calendars for the Community Egg Hunt? This event will be on April 9th at St. John's Northwestern Academies. If you have never seen this school, it is amazingly stunning with lots of character. Join us for a morning filled with fun. There will be lots of kids' activities going on that day. Bring the whole family out.
We have secured some big names for the Delafield Block Party. We can't wait to release those! Watch our social media for more details about that event.
Happy St. Patrick's Day as well! All of our businesses are ready to host festivities, and where else would you want to be on such a fun holiday?

Construction at 705 Genesee St has started in the historic downtown City of Delafield!
The fencing is up and the backhoes are hard at work digging to start the installation of the underground parking garage. I’d like to sincerely thank the Hendricks group, the City of Delafield Chamber leadership team, City staff, Police and Fire, local community groups, and the local business for working together over the last few months to prepare for this new construction project. It has taken a lot of work, open frank discussions, and understanding by all parties to develop a grassroots community plan to manage this new construction project. Chamber events, Farmer’s market, Christmas tree lighting, Delafield lion’s classic car show, Legion fourth of July parade, and other events are scheduled to happen this year with some modifications.
It's up to all of us to make an effort to stay informed and to offer constructive suggestions to the Hendricks team when the inevitable issues and concerns arise over the coming months. Let’s keep making Delafield better together!
