It has been a crazy few weeks of weather here in Wisconsin! Piles and piles of snow and than 40 degree days! A big thank you to our DPW Department for keeping the roads nice and clear here in Delafield.

As we are gearing up for our upcoming Spring and Summer events, I wanted to ask you if you, as our community, have any suggestions or thoughts on existing events or events you'd like to see here in Delafield.

Our Spring Art Walk is coming up in May- perhaps you or someone you know has a talent we are missing that would like to showcase their work and sell at the event! Please send them our way!

Do you have a band that you love?
Let me know!

Our goal here at the Chamber of Commerce is always to create economic growth here in the city for our business community but to also provide events that our community is excited to attend!

Be Well and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Megan Braatz
Executive Director
Delafield Area Chamber of Commerce
As I've traveled around the city visiting our restaurants, shops and service business, I'm excited to see that many of them are busier than what we've seen in the past year. This is a good sign and one we need to see continue into the spring and beyond. With more and more of our neighbors and friends getting access to the vaccine every day, there are a lot of citizens feeling more optimistic about the future. So, let’s all continue to respect each other’s safety concerns while at the same time visiting and supporting all our City of Delafield businesses this spring. Let's all embrace the process of getting back to normal with family and friends while having some real fun this year!
With spring is right around the corner the temperature is slowly on the rise. This also means that the ice on the lakes is continuously changing and slowly melting. Remember that no ice is safe ice. The Wisconsin DNR recommends a minimum of 4 inches of new clear ice to support the weight of a person. However, the ice thickness is seldom uniformly. It can be a foot thick in one location and only an inch or two just a few feet away. Spring ice can be especially dangerous and unpredictable. If you are out on the ice, consider wearing a life jacket and have ice picks with you to aid in self rescue in the event you break through the ice. If you see someone break through the ice, immediately call 911. Untrained people should not attempt to go on thin ice to attempt rescue. Instead try to reach an object to them, such as a ladder or rope. Lake Country Fire Rescue has highly trained personnel with specifically designed equipment to make ice rescues.
