Delaware decides this fall. Thanks to the four gubernatorial candidates who joined our Board of Governors yesterday for a candidate forum in partnership with DETV, which focused on the priorities of Delaware’s employers and employees. Watch the forum >

THIS WEEK IN DOVER

Time is winding down for the 152nd Delaware General Assembly with only six session days remaining. Despite the number of days, several important bills that will impact the business community saw movement this week and one was introduced. Bills that saw movement included:

HS 1 for HB 248: Pre-Permit Outreach in Underserved Communities

HB 433: Unemployment Insurance

HB 317: Notice Involving Gift Cards

HB 435: STAR Program

Almost all the schools around the First State have wrapped up another school year, and residents and visitors are flocking to our beach resorts. The start of the “high season" is off to a solid start; however, hotel stays are running behind normal trends in some areas. ... Tourism and agriculture are big parts of our state's economy, and ironically enough, tourism generally loathes rainy days while farmers need the water for a successful growing season. Read more >
