State Chamber Update
The United States Chamber of Commerce and its Institute for Legal Reform (ILR) recently announced that Delaware placed number one in the 2019 Lawsuit Climate Survey: Ranking the States. All of us know the importance the legal community has in our state and the financial contributions, among other things, incorporations add to the states’ bottom line. The business community, employers and employees, benefit greatly by having a legal community and judiciary that is the envy of the world.

In a recent message to Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA) members, state bar President William Patrick Brady said, “The very nature of our civil adversarial system is that one party, at a minimum, will not be happy with the outcome of a matter. However, that does not give a disgruntled litigant free reign to conduct a false and misleading smear campaign.” An article, including his entire statement, can be found here and I encourage you to read it in its entirety. The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce strongly supports the independence and quality of our states’ legal system and recognizes the importance it has to the business community.
