We are disappointed to inform you that the state of Colorado has announced that their initial filing delay targeting the second week of February has been delayed again!
According to the latest announcement, the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) plans to open the 2024 Filing Season in a "controlled launch" for:
- Individual Income Tax returns - after February 14
- C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trust returns - after February 21
Furthermore, during this period, there will be a "delay in acknowledgments" as CDOR works to retrieve and process a limited number of tax returns before the official e-file opening.
Considering that the IRS has been accepting returns since January 27 and the deadlines for filing are not extended, these CO delays put all tax preparers and taxpayers in a bind, making a difficult tax season time crunch even worse. Please be patient with us, and feel free to write your state representatives about this!
OUR DEADLINES ARE THE SAME:
MARCH 1 for submitting information for individuals, C-corps and Trusts
APRIL 1 for submitting information for extensions and Non-profits
