The Business Higher Education Roundtable (BHER) is looking for partners. The Request for Proposals for its “Creating New WIL for Canada” initiative contributes to BHER's goal of helping every student in Canada get a quality work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunity.

In early 2020, the Brookfield Institute and its partners began the Job Pathways in Food Retail
project, applying its unique model for identifying job pathways to connect displaced, skilled workers with high-potential or high-demand jobs.

The Ontario food retail sector is large, complete and evolving. They sought to explore potential disruptions and opportunities, starting with food retail cashiers and clerks, shelf stockers, and order fillers.

techNL, NEIA and the Offshore Fishery Association are celebrating Environment Week 2021 by highlighting the impact technology and innovation has on environmental sustainability.

Launch of the Future Skills Centre and supporting committee  
In collaboration with the Future Skills Centre, the Labour Market Information Council (LMIC) held its first Career Development Stakeholder Committee meeting. 

The committee is a group of passionate experts from diverse backgrounds whose aim is to ensure that the LMIC-Future Skills Centre project, which will equip career services with Labour Market Information (LMI) tools and data, responds to their needs and those of their clients. 
The NL Workforce Innovation Centre (NLWIC) at the College of the North Atlantic has a provincial mandate to provide a coordinated, central point of access to engage all labour market stakeholders about challenges, opportunities and best practices in workforce development. 

The Centre’s goal is to promote and support the research, testing and sharing of ideas and models of innovation in workforce development that will positively impact employability, employment, and entrepreneurship within the province’s labour market and particularly underrepresented groups. Funding for NLWIC is provided by the Department of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills (IPGS) under the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement.
