THANK YOU
to everyone who has been ordering online and over the phone! We have been busy all week adjusting to this new temporary reality and reconfiguring the store space to most efficiently fill all your orders. We are adjusting our home delivery option (see below) and will continue to offer curbside pickup and shipping. We also received confirmation that we can sell
wine
for pick up, so, yeah!
While we've been making all of these changes, we've also been busy coming up with some fun ways to stay connected, while also distancing. If you are on
Facebook
, you will have already seen some of our quick video updates - even featuring camera-shy Eileen and also our
State of OMP Union address
.
We will be rolling out more online fun via video conferencing tools.
Stay tuned for virtual book clubs, author chats/readings and more - including Jen DeLuca (3/26) and John
Wasowicz (4/1)
.
We held our inaugural Friday
State of the OMP Union Facebook Live
last week, and we are going to do those every Friday at 4:30pm.
Have your bookish questions ready and tune in! We miss you!
Our current "store" hours are Mon-Fri, 11am-4pm. We'll be taking phone orders and offering curbside pick up only during those hours. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays for now.

We are thrilled that we've been able to deliver so many orders to our neighbors in N. Arlington, Falls Church and McLean! We do have to make one adjustment.
Beginning tomorrow, March 24, orders over $30 will still be delivered for free, but we will add a delivery fee of $5 for orders under $30.
Curbside pick up remains free, and shipping is always available for a fee (usually $5.95).
If you do not see delivery as an option for your order, it is because you are outside our delivery area.
Please note that
if you ordered for curbside pickup, your order will NOT be ready until you have received an email from us letting you know it is ready
. We process all orders daily and will update you as soon as possible. When you call to check an order, it slows down the order processing, prepping and delivering of orders. We are working with a limited staff during these âinteresting times,â but hope to add additional staff shortly to more quickly process your orders. If you want to check on something, feel free to respond to your confirmation email.
If you order by noon for delivery, assuming your items are all in stock, we make every attempt to deliver your purchases the same day.
If you live in an apartment with limited access
, please be sure to stay near your phone. Eileen will call when she arrives. If you are not available, she will leave your order as close to your door as possible. If you answer the phone when she calls, that will help immensely!
If you ordered for delivery after noon, look for your delivery tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience as we all adjust to our temporary normal!

From Rebecca:
TIGERS, NOT DAUGHTERS
by Samanth Mabry
"When Ana Torres unexpectedly dies the summer after she graduates high school, her three younger sisters are left alone in a sea of overpowering loss, neighborhood gossip, and unanswered questions. Left on their own without their eldest sister, the remaining Torres girls cope in any way they can, but a year after Anaâs death, it becomes obvious that they are all still hurting. Then Anaâs ghost begins to make its presence known in the Torres house, with mysterious laughter, hand prints on the shower, and messages written on the walls. But why is Ana here? What is she trying to tell them? And what if she has unfinished business? Heartbreaking and hopeful, ghostly and gorgeous, Tigers, Not Daughters is a masterful story of grief, healing, and the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood between determined, ferocious young women. An absolutely stunning read." Available 3/24

From Amber:
THE AUTHENTICITY PROJECT
ï»żby Clare Pooley
"If A MAN CALLED OVE meets BRIDGET JONES sounds intriguing, pick this one up! It has a cast of characters you can root for. It posits an interesting concept to consider: Is authenticity all itâs cracked up to be? If you are looking for something light, but thoughtful, this would be a good choice."

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
