Delray Beach Hurricane Ian Update: 4 PM, Sept. 27, 2022
All of Palm Beach County is now under a tropical storm warning, which means we can expect sustained winds up to 73 miles per hour in our area beginning this evening. Delray Beach residents are already seeing rain bands and wind gusts from Hurricane Ian.


PUBLIC MEETINGS
  • The Parking Management Advisory Board, Site Plan Review and Appearance Board, and the Public Art Advisory Board meetings have been canceled

  • All parks, golf courses, tennis facilities, and community centers will be closed and all Parks and Recreation programming will be canceled on September 28

  • The Delray Beach Fire Explorers Program meeting has been postponed

  • City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, September 28


FLOODING SAFETY
Major rainfall is expected throughout South Florida from today until Thursday, and flooding is expected throughout the city.

  • Avoid coming into contact with floodwaters. There may be hazards like pollutants and debris that are not visible

  •  Avoid driving through floodwaters for your safety and to avoid vehicle damage


  • In case of emergencies dial 9-1-1


SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY
  • Solid Waste Authority facilities will be closed on September 28, and collections will not take place

  • All facilities (excluding the RMPF and Belle Glade Transfer Station) will remain open until 6 p.m. today (September 27)
