On Feb. 19, 2021, City Commissioners, City staff and residents came together for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the beautiful and historic City Marina.
The City Marina is part of Delray Beachβs Marina Historic District, situated on the Intracoastal Waterway. The marina has been in operation for over 80 years and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
Due to the aggressive saltwater environment, extreme high-tides, and waves from passing boats, the City Marina experienced severe damage over the years. The City Marina Improvement Project raised the top of the seawall, pier, and dock to mitigate potential sea-level rise and further deterioration from overtopping saltwater.
To complement the renovation, the City of Delray Beach added decorative and security features, enhancements to the landscaping and sidewalks, state of the art WI-FI communications, floating decks, seawall cap to address sea-level rise issue, pump-out stations for residents and non-residents, improvements to the existing Marina building, and two new pavilions.
The City Marina has a full-time staff to manage the dock and an air-conditioned facility which contains restrooms, showers, washer/dryers, an ice machine, an open sitting and reading room, and a coin-operated pump-out. Electricity, water, telephone, and cable TV connections are provided at each slip.

Both temporary programs are aimed at helping local businesses impacted by COVID-19 and require an approved permit.
