Sea Turtle Nesting Season is here!

Every year, from March 1 - Oct. 31, sea turtles come ashore to lay eggs on our beaches.
We can help sea turtles by taking a few simple steps.
  • Keep your distance if you encounter a nesting turtle.
  • Artificial lighting can cause hatchlings to become disoriented. Ensure that no direct or indirect light is visible from the bench, including drawing your curtains closed.
  • Move items such as chairs and cabanas to the sandy foot of the dune each night to ensure sea turtles can easily navigate along the beach.

The city is hosting an outdoor Community Resource Fair, on March 26, from 10 am to 2 pm, at Old School Square.

Delray Beach has kicked off the Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Study.

The goal of this study is to integrate walking and bicycling into the City’s overall mobility strategy, creating active transportation options for residents and visitors.

The result of this plan will be a blueprint for the City of Delray Beach to create a safe, comfortable, and convenient network of sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and trails throughout the city as well as provide connections to the regional non-motorized transportation and transit network.

Stay tuned for project updates and live, in-person events in late March. In the meantime, visit the project website www.walkbikedelraybeach.com to take part in an online survey, access an interactive map, and much more.
