Delta Air Lines to suspend Air Service to Williston
Williston Airport News Release - On June 3, 2020, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) finalized its decision to grant an exemption to Delta Air Lines’ (Delta) service obligation under the CARES Act. Under the CARES Act, Delta was obligated to provide one flight per day, three days per week between XWA and MSP. The City of Williston (City) anticipates Delta’s suspension of service will take place the first week of July. New Pediatric Walk-in Clinic opens in Williston
KUMV-TV - Williston's first pediatric walk-in clinic is opening next week. Chatter Pediatric owner Katie Kringen and staff have been working on the clinic for over a year and will soon be able to treat illnesses as well as conduct school physicals, immunizations, blood work, all without an appointment. The clinic is located below Kringen's pediatric therapy practice and houses five exam rooms. They recently hired their first family nurse practitioner and are excited to offer another resource to families in the area. Read More
Wild Calf Coffee to open Tasting Room
KUMV-TV - The success of a locally-owned coffee company in Bainville, MT is motivating the owners to start a new business venture. Dustin and Sara Harmon's ongoing success prompted them to create a tasting-room they want to open to the public in August or September. Read More
Williston School Districts begin Merger Talks
Williston Herald - The two school districts that serve Williston have agreed to start negotiating a plan to merge, and the timeline could be very short. On Tuesday evening, June 2, the board for Williams County Public School District No. 8 voted unanimously to pursue reorganization negotiations with Williston Public School District No. 1. At the meeting, board Vice President Chris Jundt made the motion to start negotiating with District 1. Read More
Wenko, Harmon featured at 1 Million Cups Williston; Next Meeting July 1
Williston Economic Development - Sara Harmon of Wild Calf Coffee and Shawn Wenko of Williston Economic Development spoke at the 1 Million Cups meeting on June 3 at the Williston Area Recreation Center. Harmon shared that their business survived the pandemic with an uptick in online sales while Wenko highlighted how the City is dealing with the repercussions of COVID-19.
New Shooting Range to open in Watford City
McKenzie County Far mer - T he McKenzie County Sportsman’s Club is poised to open its new range by the end of June. “The last piece of work that is still waiting to complete is pouring the concrete around the trap houses,” states Nevin Dahl, McKenzie County Sportsman’s Club president. “We hope to have that work completed by June 20. Watford City Cook makes Tamales for Less Fortunate
McKenzie County Farmer - When Tara Paul arrived in Watford City toward the end of last year, serving up tamales to struggling families in the community wasn’t on her agenda.
