Partner Highlights

This spring marks three years since the launch of LIFT (Local Impact for Tomorrow), a collaborative initiative focused on improving the health and well-being of students and families in the Fallon Park Elementary and Roanoke City communities.

LIFT’s strategic efforts — rooted in increasing access to clinical and mental health care, strengthening family support and fostering academic success — have made measurable impacts:

  • More than 600 clinic visits projected in 2024–2025, serving students from Fallon Park and other Roanoke City Public Schools

  • 528 nonclinical supports, including 130 mental health supports

  • 272 community health worker referrals, connecting families to essential services

As the program evolves, the focus remains on expanding mental health resources, enhancing academic support and deepening community partnerships.

Through their dedication and hard work, they’re LIFTing students, families and the community toward a healthier, brighter future.

Foundation in Action

We’ve got exciting news to share — Delta Dental of Virginia just took home Silver for Best Local Company That Gives Back in the Best of Roanoke 2025!

This is our first time receiving this recognition, and we’re beyond thrilled. A huge thank-you goes out to our amazing team members and community partners — your passion and commitment made this possible!

And when we say we “give back,” we mean it. Our team has been out and about on the weekends, putting their time and energy into causes that matter.

In April, volunteers rolled up their sleeves in Salem, VA to help Sleep in Heavenly Peace build 30 beds for kids who needed a safe place to sleep.

In May, our team members (and their families!) teamed up with Rise Against Hunger to pack a whopping 10,000 meals for families across the globe.

To our incredible team: you’re the reason we can give back in such meaningful ways. Your hard work is building stronger communities — and creating more smiles along the way.
