Volume 3 - October 24, 2023

Greetings Sorors of THE mighty NACAC,

Busy! Boy we are all so busy! Busy with work, school, church, family, friends, events, kids activities, deadlines and often times too busy to connect with those that we love and cherish.

I was talking to my bestie from Jersey this past weekend while I was folding clothes. I stopped, sat down and really connected with her, leaned in and gave her my full attention. She and I both needed a moment to connect and to value each other's company without interruptions. I encourage you as we enter the last quarter of the year with the holidays approaching, lean in and let's connect with each other. Let's build trusting and long lasting relationships. We're more alike than different.

As I was finishing a team call for work Monday morning this quote popped up on my email that read, "There's a lot that is good in your life - don't take it for granted. Don't get so focused on the struggles that you miss the gift of today." - Unknown

From 2016 to 2020, about 2 in 3 female breast cancer cases were diagnosed at a localized stage, meaning the cancer had not spread outside the breast. About 1 in 4 female breast cancers were found at a regional stage (the cancer had spread to nearby lymph nodes, tissues, or organs), and 6% were found at a distant stage (the cancer had spread to distant parts of the body).Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before big enough to feel or cause symptoms.

PMH Wellness Warriors would like to recognize one of our NACAC breast cancer survivors, Soror Rhonda Jones. This amazing woman shares what helped her on her journey to wellness (i.e., inspirational word, poem, song and/or scripture). Thank You so much for your vulnerability and strength in sharing your story. Your story can save lives!

Soror Rhonda Jones

The bible verse that gave me comfort in 2004 when I was going through breast cancer treatment: Isaiah 41:10 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

10 Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,

Yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

SEASONS CHANGE FOR A REASON

To everything there is a season. For every experience there is a reason. Often we turn what was meant to be a "moment" into years of suffering because we choose to hold the pain. You can make a decision to transmute that pain right now into fuel that propels you forward into destiny. Flow with the change of seasons. GROW FORWARD!

There is so much more to your life than where you are right now. You have strength you haven't discovered yet. It gets better. God has promised each of us beauty for ashes. Peace is possible. Know that I am earnestly praying for you Soror. Keep believing in God's best for your life. With God all things are possible.
