Delta Mu Delta 2017 Induction Ceremony  
Alumnus Joe Henkel named Honorary Member 

On April 28, the College of Business Administration held the annual induction ceremony for its chapter of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business. To be eligible to join Delta Mu Delta, students must be in the top 20 percent of their class with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. This year's ceremony was held at the Salazar Building.


Honorary inductee, CBA alumnus Joe Henkel ('71), President and Chief Executive Officer of Kleberg Bank, served as the keynote speaker. Student inductees are-Lacey Fletcher, Casey Klobedans, Silvia Medrano, JoAnn Moreno, Viviana Saenz, Reynaldo Salinas, Nohemi Tagle and Martina Urrutia-Achleitner.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville College of Business Administration honored alumni, students and faculty during its annual awards ceremony held Friday, April 28 at the Salazar Building. Alumnae Linda Hahn and Mary Ann Oldham were inducted into the College Wall of Honor. The Wall of Honor represents the highest standard of philanthropy in the College of Business Administration.

Overall, the college honored 47 students and awarded $72,000 in scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Student awards presented: Tiphanie Contretras--Student Leadership Award; Taylor Blair--Dr. Stephen Scofield Ethics Award; Thomas Esteban Gomez Diaz--Delta Sigma Pi Key Award; and Eva Pena--Texas Society of Certified Public Accountancy Accounting Excellence Award.


CBA Faculty Awards for Remarkable Teaching, Research and Service   
Seven business faculty honored for distinguished accomplishments
 
Throughout the 2016-2017 academic year, faculty within the College of Business Administration have developed and implemented innovative programs and introduced new classes that enhance students' knowledge through experiential and service learning, collaborated on research projects which won national and international awards, brought recognition to the College of Business Administration and university; whose intellectual contributions were published in premier and high quality journals that have a long-term impact on the College of Business Administration and/or Texas A&M University-Kingsville. For this work, both in and out of the classroom, seven faculty members from the College of Business Administration were recently recognized at the annual College Honors Ceremony held April 28 at the Salazar Building for their outstanding achievements.  



They included (left to right): Dr. Rusty Karst and Dr. Genevieve Scalan--Distinguished Educator Award; Dr. Dongnyoung Kim and Dr. Tom Krueger--Distinguished Researcher Award; Dr. John Cicala and Dr. Barbara Oates--Distinguished Service Award; and Gonzalo Rivera Jr.--Students' Choice Distinguished Teaching Award.  


Texas A&M-Kingsville Holds Spring Commencement May 12-13

More than 1,300 prospective graduates crossed the stage to receive their degrees during four commencement ceremonies held at the Steinke Physical Education Center at Texas A&M University-Kingsville Friday and Saturday, May 12-13.

Two ceremonies were held Friday and two were held Saturday. The graduates from the Dick and Mary Lewis Kleberg College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Human Sciences and the College of Education and Human Performance crossed the stage at 10 a.m. Friday. The 2 p.m. ceremony featured the College of Arts and Sciences

The 10 a.m. ceremony Saturday was for the College of Business Administration and the baccalaureate candidates from the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering. The master's and doctoral candidates from the College of Engineering received their degrees at 2 p.m. Saturday. Read more about this article.

The College of Business Administration is excited to share its brand new yearly publication Business Journal. The publication highlights the spirit and culture of innovation among college faculty, students, alumni and friends.
