RETREAT TO QUILT

Spaces available for both two night and three night packages.

This will be a relaxed weekend of quilting whether you are a novice or an experienced retreater. It is amazing how much one can accomplish with only their quilting projects to think about. You will have plenty of space to organize and spread out your projects, and space to hang them as they grow into large quilt tops – if that’s in your plan! How inspiring it is to work alongside other quilters, to learn from one another and share the community spirit of quilting.

DEMO DAYS AND MORE ....

Thank you to everyone who attended our September demo in person and to those who watched it online. It was great fun, wasn’t it?.

Marilyn and Tami shared an abundance of ideas for your fall and Christmas décor. The show and share, and the stories behind your projects was wonderful.

A special mention here of the Cookie Cutter Cutout ornaments – we thought this would be a fun activity for a child to do with mom or grandma, and have popped it on the calendar for the afternoon following the Uxbridge Santa Claus parade on November 16.

We are so excited with the response to our class listing this fall, and we’ve squeezed a few more into the calendar. Tami has three new classes which are:

Whether you are gifting a book , preserving the cover of a precious heirloom, or want an attractive and protective cover for a frequently used reference or journal, Tami will guide you through all the steps to make your first Notebook Cover, and we won’t try to guess how many more you’ll want to make on your own!

Cross Stitch for Beginners

By request, we have added a Beginner Cross Stitch class in October. Choose from one of our many patterns or kits or bring along that one you’ve been wanting to start but didn’t know how. Tami will not only get you started she will show you many options on how to finish your projects too!

If you take another peek at the Show and Share from Saturday morning (from the Demo recording on YouTube), you will see

Pat’s beautiful Scandi quilt which she made using the Lemoyne Star ruler. Leianne will

be including how to adapt the traditional Lemoyne star to the Scandi pattern in her full day class on November 28th

Just a sliver, but wait....is there more?

Tuckerizing this pattern using the Wedge Star Ruler from Studio 180, Leianne will have you spinning this kaleidoscope block on your table in no time. Make the table runner or set of four placemats with just four fat quarters and a background fabric.

From the Editor .......

The September demo was a huge success. Tami even showed a Country Charm Table Runner - a Q-Cup (what I imagine the young people are calling Quilters Cupboard these days!) favourite. Tami has been provided a list of approximately 25 potential new permutations of the Country Charm Table Runner - you should ask her to tell you about them. Better yet, tell her you'd like to see a sample of each one at a future Demo Day.
