School Board Forum Tonight

Tonight, Tuesday, June 23, Jacksonville Policy Engagement Group is hosting the 2026 Duval County School Board Forum. This is a free, moderated panel where you’ll hear directly from candidates running for Duval County School Board in Districts 2, 4, and 6. Doors open at 6:00 PM at 3503 N. Pearl Street, Jacksonville. Come ready to listen, learn, and ask the hard questions.

This forum will be focused on budget priorities, how candidates plan to reach constituents from every corner of our community, and their commitment to students’ mental and physical wellness. All qualifying candidates for Districts 2, 4, and 6 have been invited to participate. This is your chance to engage with them before August 18 elections.

The event is free and open to the public. Click here for more information. Hope to see you there!

Rally this Sat. 6/27

Join us this Saturday, June 27 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the St. Johns Town Center (in front of Wells Fargo) as we rally for the America we ALL deserve. Jax NOW will join local Indivisible chapters, 50501 NEFL, and others as we demand people over profit, democracy over oligarchy, and an America that works for all of us.

For 250 years, generations of heroes have fought to make this country live up to its ideals. Workers fought for dignity. Women fought for equality. Civil rights leaders fought for justice. Immigrants fought for opportunity. LGBTQ+ communities fought for the freedom to live openly and authentically. As we celebrate 250 years of this fight for freedom, we know very well the work is not finished.

Please email us if you are interested in tabling and/or sign waving with Jax NOW. You can find more information and sign up here. Hope to see you Saturday!

You can find a list of state and federal candidates here and a list of candidates in Jacksonville races here

FYI - Jax NOW has sent questionnaires to local and state candidates running for multiple offices and we'll share our endorsements and election guide soon. If you would like to contribute to the Jax NOW Political Action Committee (PAC) to support candidates who reflect our core values, you can find more information and donate here.

America 250

This July 4th marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

This powerful document states the principles on which our government, and our identity as Americans, are based. Abraham Lincoln called it “a rebuke and a stumbling-block to tyranny and oppression.” It continues to inspire people around the world to fight for freedom and equality, including Americans who are fighting against the corruption, illegality and autocratic overreach of the current administration.

The preamble reminds us that we are ALL created equal and are endowed with certain unalienable rights, including Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. As we continue to work toward a more perfect union, we reject those who want to divide us and we defend the rights and freedoms of ALL. 250 years on, we proudly reaffirm our independence from despots and celebrate the beautiful diversity and multiculturalism that is America.

If you're looking for cool ways to honor the 250th anniversary, you should check out 250 TO 250 - a series of one-minute stories of the many people, places, and events that have built our country and remind us of the power of each person to make history. #WeAreAmerica250 You can also watch "Celebrating America 250: Made with Love" on PBS, exploring America's founding spirit through the works of modern artisans who illustrate the many cultures that built this country.

Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸🎆🗽
