A recent book by Seth Kaplan, Fragile Neighborhoods, as reviewed in PM Magazine, builds on previous work by Robert Sampson and Mark Granovetter, showing the importance of social capital and collective efficacy in building connections that ultimately lead to a stronger democracy. With 10,500+ entries, it includes groups working on a wide range of priorities. The portal will allow people to view these organizations geographically, by network, and financially. The map will be valuable to local leaders, investors, and researchers.

The National Day of Racial Healing is a time to reflect on #HowWeHeal from the trauma of racism. 275 public events in 39 states took place for the 2024 National Day of Racial Healing on January 16, showing a collective commitment to racial healing and equity. Events ranged from book club discussions to coffeehouse performances and historic tours. Review and reflect on the inspiring 2024 events and plan your involvement for next year.
