Good advice for anyone
Vermont author Ann Aikens read from her book, A Young Woman's Guide to Life: A Cautionary Tale, at the Norwich Library. "Despite many, many joys on Earth, it's going to be at times wicked hard," said Aikens. "Adapt we must. Once we have established this precept, any levity you can afford in daily life and bad situations is a good idea."

Three candidates for two seats on the Hanover Select Board—Kari Asmus, Jarett Berks, and Joanna Whitcomb—answered questions at last week's candidate forum: "Hanover Demystified." Trustee of the Cemetery, a new position, also attracted three candidates—Jefferson Frost, Kevin Knutti, and Petra Sargent. Town Manager Alex Torpey got things rolling by explaining how town government works. Dartmouth Civics and the Rockefeller Center sponsored the event.
